I feel a bit of conciousness creep into my body. After being stuck in the darkness for so long it's almost a pain to open my eyes, so I don't. I keep them tightly shut, as an escape from reality. An escape from the searing pain throughout amy entire body. And an escape from the truth of what happened to me.
Their is a nonstop beeping throughout the room confirming to everyone around that I'm alive. It would be a pleasure to pull it out and to fall back into darkness and just accept the death that was so patiently waiting for me, but I can't. I remember the reasons I fought so hard in the first place, the reasons to why I didn't just find a balcony and jump of it or stab myself in the heart.
