I paced the length of my room, my thoughts and emotions spinning out of control. Faith’s growing distance from us, the triplets, was tearing me apart, and I could feel it getting worse. I wasn’t one to talk much—Jason and Mason usually took care of that—but it didn’t mean I didn’t feel things deeply. In fact, my emotions ran like a deep current beneath a calm surface, intense and unyielding. But now, that current was pulling me under, threatening to drown me. Ever since Faith started pulling away, I noticed every subtle shift in her behavior—the way she avoided our eyes, the hesitation in her voice before she spoke.
