CHAPTER 5

ETHAN'S POV

When I heard the news that my younger brother Lucas had gotten his mate and was about to get married, I decided that it was high time I just came back home. I have been studying and I just didn't have plans of coming back at all to assume my position as the next Alpha. My dad has called me so many times for that reason but I wasn't just ready at first.

My brother and I on the other hand are not really on good terms at all. Despite the fact that I was his elder brother with at least two years gap, he doesn't accord me with that respect. But no matter what he is still my brother and I can't miss his wedding for anything at all.

Well talking about having a mate was not something that actually freaks me out. Yes...yes...I know I needed one but I was just so focused on my studies throughout but now I have finally decided to go back home and it was actually a surprise to everyone.

"Gabriel, help me with my luggage. We need to leave now. I hope we actually make it to the wedding on time." I said to my best friend and soon to be beta. He has always been there for me and I'm glad that our paths actually crossed.

"Of course we will. You don't need to worry about that. And again your dad and mum have really been calling your phone, at least pick up to know what is going on." He said to me with my phone in his hand urging me to pick it up.

"It seems you have forgotten that it's a surprise visit. I can't let them know that I'm coming back now." I responded feeling so upset. It seems he had actually forgotten the whole plan that we have talked about earlier.

Now we are already at the airport. I just wanted to make it ontime and actually surprise everyone. We finally reached, well the journey was a smooth one and at this point I was actually beginning to have cold feet. It's actually been long now that I haven't come home and I'm sure most people won't be able to recognize me.

"What's wrong junior Alpha," Gabriel asked me and I just rolled my eyes at him. I have always warned him of that name; junior Alpha? It sounds so ridiculous to me but as usual Gabriel says it to get on my nerves or piss me off.

I could hear his laughter all over the place. He is actually having fun. Nice one. "Alright... alright...I know you don't like that name but I won't stop until you have finally become the Alpha." He continued laughing and with style decided to move five inches away from me because he actually knew what I was capable of doing to him.

"Come on, let's just go." I said, as I took my luggage from him so that he could be able to carry his own freely.

We finally arrived at Silver Spoon Pack and as usual, always quiet as ever but today was extremely quiet which means that everyone was already at the event for my brother's wedding.

"Guy, come on, you need to speed up. It seems we are actually late." I said as I turned to look at where Gabriel was. He is really slow in his steps, sometimes I wonder if he was actually a lady because as a guy with that step is really discouraging.

Now we finally reached the pack house and it hasn't changed a bit. Some people who saw me really recognized me. I could see the shock on their faces. The secret of my coming really spread to my dad's ear until he saw me coming from a distance. He felt so happy and quickly made a huge announcement to everyone. They all gathered waiting for me. I ran over like a child to embrace my mum and dad and as for Lucas, he remained there staring at me. I know he was actually shocked to see me but from his stare I could feel that he wasn't happy either to see me.

"Ethan Williams, welcome home my son." My dad said with so much happiness in his voice as he embraced me in another hug. It really feels so good to be back home. I wasn't really expecting the warm hugs and happiness on everyone's faces.

"I'm happy that you came back for your brother's wedding." My mum said as she kept holding my hands and refusing to let me go. After a few minutes of welcoming me back, everyone went back to what they were doing before and the music was back on.

I looked around to see if I could see my brother Lucas but he was nowhere to be found until I caught a glimpse of him in the back corridor.

"What's up bro, not so happy to see me?," I asked, as I approached him. He didn't even bother to look at me or even gave me any response. Was he really that angry with me? But why?

"Lucas what is it?," I asked him again. I really wanted to know what was eating him up and why he wasn't happy to see me.

"You wanna know why," he asked. "Yes I do, it seems you are not happy to see me." I responded, waiting for his reason.

"Go back to where you are coming from Ethan," he said and then walked past me. It's the nerves for me. Did Lucas really hate me that much? I know I haven't been there for him for so long now and I will try my best to make things right. I decided to remove my mind on Lucas for a while. I wanted to go round and maybe greet some people that I know.

Suddenly I saw a little gathering and I was so angry when I heard this, "It's her sister's wedding and she is the one serving the drink. What does it mean? It means that she is not wanted here. A wolfless wolf doesn't have a place in our pack.” I couldn't see the faces of the two girls who happen to be the center of attraction but for a reason I was drawn to them.

As I started to approach them, I could feel my wolf getting so restless. I haven't felt like this before. My wolf has always been very quiet and peaceful but now it kept jumping In my head. I could feel this happiness in me when I saw her. Yes… my mate…I felt so bad because of the condition she was in. They were actually humiliating her and I could not stand by and watch them do that to her.

“What is actually going on here,” I asked as I stepped into the middle of both of them. I was actually backing my mate and I could tell that her eyes were all over me.

"Come on handsome, just stay out of this,” the girl whom I was facing spoke and decided to make advances at me. She really looks so annoying and has no respect at all.

“Back off,” I said in a huge tone that is more commanding. I turned to face my mate this time and she was actually just standing there looking messy but in a good way for me. She had the most beautiful lips that I couldn't wait to grab with mine. Her eyes, deep green and it looks so seductive, I was really enchanted by her looks. The wine that has poured on her really soaked her clothes and I could see how visible her n****e was. At this point I just wanted to grab her and make her mine. She was really tempting. I needed to stop staring at her. “Are you alright,” was what I could ask her at that moment then I held her hands. The bond between us was really strong just by holding hands and immediately she removed her hands on mine. She must have felt it.

“Who exactly do you think you are,” the annoying girl who had made this mess asked and was about to empty a glass on me. I had to stop her immediately.

“Don't you dare,” I said, and this time she was really pissing me off. She is actually lucky that I was in a good mood. I took the glass from her then responded, “You will soon find out who I am.” Immediately Gabriel, who disappeared on me since we arrived, suddenly appeared and whispered something urgent In my ear. I quickly drank the drink I was holding and followed him out.

“What is it Gabriel and what is so important that can't wait…you just disappeared on me…” I said feeling upset with me.

“It's actually very important.” He said, feeling scared to go straight to the point.

“What is it, or I will get back to what I was doing?” I responded, feeling so pissed off. Gabriel really acts like a girl sometimes and it's not charming at all.

“It's…it's…your brother. He is…nowhere to be found.”
