Talon's P.O.V. I let go of my fork and it clattered loudly against the plate, breaking the silence that had consumed us. I slowly turned my head to the side to look at her nervous figure and found her looking at the ground in fear. “Tell me I didn't just hear you say you had a date tonight. ” “I didn't say I had a date Talon, I said I have a date tonight and I'm going because I am a beautiful woman and I want a man that isn't you to acknowledge that as well. ” She literally just took all my arguments away in one sentence.  This is not good. I have to find a way to stop her from going on this date. “OK, you're right. ” I saw her let out a breath of relief at not having to argue with me. “You're young and beautiful and you need to live your life and not be chained down to me. ” I can see the wheels turning in her head and I know I'd have to play it smart if I don't want her to get suspicious of me. “What are you up to Talon cause you and I both know that you would never agree to me dating anyone? ” “You're right and I'm not agreeing to you going on a date with that d-bag but, if you were to let me meet him before you went on said date, I'd be assured that I'm leaving the most important person in my life in capable hands. ” Immediately I finished spouting that load of crap I knew she didn't believe me. Shit. “You and I know that that's all bullshit but I will let you meet him because I'm certain that you won't be able to scare this one off. ” She looked so confident that I wouldn't be able to make the b***h run but I was willing to prove her wrong. “Challenge accepted mama. ” It was eight in the evening and I could see her putting the finishing touches on her look for the date that wasn't going to happen. I almost felt bad for doing this, but then I remember why I'm doing this and all the guilt goes away. She's finally done and walks out of her room. As soon as I see that black dress on her, I know that I would die first before I let some creepy perv talk to her much less go on a date with her. “Tell me you aren't wearing that just for that loser. ” “I'm not wearing it for him, and he's not a loser. I'm wearing it for myself because this is the first time I've been on a date in a long ass time and I want to look flawless. ” The doorbell rings as soon as she stops talking. “Oh, that must be him. How do I look? ” She asks with a bright smile. “Absolutely breath taking, not that it will matter to him since you're not going with him. ” I said making her roll her eyes at me. God I wanted to smack her ass red for that. “You wait here while I talk to him and don't roll your eyes at me again if you know what's good for you. ” She looked shocked by my last comment but didn't say anything about it so I walked to the door and swung it open. “Hi, does Rosario leave here? ” The i***t wearing a cheap beige suit asked. I wonder what made her agree to go on a date with him. He's not bad looking but he's not nearly as attractive as the type of guy she deserves to be seen with. It's like eating chocolate chip cookies with ketchup, f*****g disgusting. “Yes she does, and you are? ” I asked rudely. “Oh, I'm Mark. I'm picking her up for a date. ” He said stretching his hand out to me for a handshake but I just kept looking at him with an unamused look on my face. “Let's have a chat Mike. ” “Uh, it's Mark. ” “First of all Marcus, you don't correct me. If I call you Macy you better answer. Secondly, in what world did you see yourself actually going on a date with a beautiful woman like that? ” He didn't respond and I knew he was going to be easy to break “Now, because I'm such a nice guy, I'm going to leave it up to you to decide how this night is going to end. The first option is me destroying what ever shred of confidence you have then send you away to go cry at home or I could hook you up with a beautiful woman with is not my mum and you two can f**k or fall in love or whatever the f**k you both want. ” The second I finished, I already knew that he'd pick the second option and I was relieved because he seemed like a nice guy and I didn't want to be a d**k to him for no reason. We concluded our business and ended making plans to catch the up coming football game and then I sent him on his merry way. I walked back inside the house to come face to face with a severely pissed off woman and I knew I had to do some damage control.
