Chapter 2: the waterfall

4 years later

Seraphina POV:

“Jack wait up, pwessssee” I yelled to Jack since we decided to have a race but he cheated by head starting.

“Haha come on Sera bear, you can catch up, beside I want to surprise you, “ Jack yells to me. What surprise. What is he talking about.

Oh my where is my manners, let me introduce myself, my name is Seraphina I am 4 years old but I am very smart for my age. I am the chosen one at least that’s what everyone at school knows me as. I have a mommy and daddy. Mommy is pregnant right now with my sister. I am so excited to be a big sister! We are the Betas in our pack. Then Jack , my best friend, will be the future alpha in our pack. He is 2 years older than me. So that makes him 6 years old. I like Jack a lot, but I don’t know if I will be fortunate to get a mate. Why you may ask, well it’s because I am the prophecy , the hero, the moon goddess gift, and so on so on. I’m too little to fully understand but I do know , there will be a dark time in the future and I am the one that saves everyone, I’m a hero!! So once I turn 18 hopefully I also get blessed with a mate!

“We are here Sera bear, so you can stop your whining” jack says to me.

I catch up to Jack and I stop and I can’t believe the view. “Oh my gosh Jack, this is gorgeous “ I whisper because i am speechless.

“Seraphina Welcome to Multnomah Falls, Oregon, this will be the place I will be bringing you when you shift at 16. “ Jack reaches for my hand and looks down at me while he said that.

“Okay Jack” I look up to him with my puppy eyes. Jack just laughs and looks away shyly.

Multnomah Falls I say in my own head. I want to remember that name forever because the waterfalls and the view and the bridge that we are standing at right in the middle is the best romantic memory I will cherish forever! It’s so breathtaking.

Jack and I play in the water, just splashing each other away. It was getting late so we started to head back. We arrived at my house and my mommy was waiting for me outside to have dinner.

“ how was your day now” my mommy ask us.

“It was good, I took Seraphina to Multnomah falls, a few miles away from our pack land” Jack responded to mom.

“That’s lovely, well Jack and moon go inside and wash up, Jack your mom and dad are inside waiting, you all will be staying for dinner. I made slice potato’s topped with chili and shredded cheese. With whatever toppings you like. “

“Mmmmm mommy that’s my favorite” I say while I’m drooling .

“We have big news to announce, now now, go wash up kids” mom shush us away. Jack and I ran upstairs to wash up our hands. Jack sister was in my room taking a nap since she is only 2 years old. She still a baby. We walk quietly by my room and went to the bathroom to wash up. Once we were down we went quietly downstairs to join the others. We all sat around the table getting served the best meal ever. Once we all got served we all dig in.

“Do you guys think we are ready to tell Jack and Seraphina , the announcement “ Alpha Liam, Jacks dad, looks at the grown ups to decide

“Yes it is time” Luna Ava answers and looks up to her mate lovely.

“Okay , let me start, *henry clears his throat* my little princess, you are very smart for your age so we think it’s time to tell you and Jack, why you my princess, needs to be protected and watch like a hawk. You know the story about the moon goddess that happed one thousand years ago.” We both shook our head and daddy kept talking

“Since you were born on a harvest full moon, you , Seraphina, have been picked by the moon goddess to protect our kind from the tragic thing that will occur. You also have a very important power that will unfold itself when you first shift. Your special power is lunar manipulation. You will be able to harness the energy of the moon to enhance your strength, speed, and senses, especially during any full moon but it will be the most power on a harvest full moon. This power will make you a formidable force and a big target. People will be scared of you and that my princess is why you need to keep your identity , date of birth, and your birthmark a secret. If anyone finds out the date you were born they will know that it was a harvest full moon and they will know you and would want to use you for bad things instead of the good you were meant to do. You understand my princess. “ my dad looks at me with his eye mixed of emotions but one of them scared. My dad is scared of losing me or anything happening to me.

I scanned the room and everyone has their eyes on me. I look up to dad and answer him.

”Yes daddy I understand. I understand the moon goddess and why she chose me. I will fulfill my destiny”

Everyone looks at me with pride.

“As the future alpha I will protect Seraphina.” Jack says with his chest puff out to look tough.

“Good because starting tomorrow you both will start training” Alpha Liam says with a stern voice.

“Yes sir” Jack and I say in unison and we giggle .

We all continue eating and enjoying each other company. Luna Ava had to excuse herself because Jack baby sister , Piper, woke up from her nap and started to cry.

It was close to bedtime and Jack family all gather by front door and bid their good nights and goodbyes. Jack gave me a hug and a kiss on my cheek , that made me get butterflies is my tummy, and Jack rubs his necks and walks away as red as a tomato. I head upstairs to do my nightly routine. Mommy and daddy walks into my room and hug me and tell me they love me. I say goodnight to them and gave mommy a tummy kissy for my baby sister.

Today was a good day. I now know my destiny and why I’m the hero. Moon goddess guide me to the right path, I don’t want to get used to be a bad person. Tomorrow will be the beginning for my future.
