Chapter Nine

Her tongue searched mine, and I leaned in, my hands wrapping firmly around her waist. As the kiss started to deepen, I found my hands dragging lower to grope her butt cheeks, leading us toward the bed. We fell over, and she landed on top of me. Her mouth slid down to my neck while my hands trailed over her back. With my legs parted and one of hers resting between them, our thighs began to rub against each other. Her tongue left my neck, sliding down to my collarbone, and I felt her hands on my chest, pressing against my breast and feeling me out. I let out a low moan as a sharp knot of pleasure descended upon me, but then I slowly started pushing her back, rejecting the touch. She paused, her eyes softening as she looked down at my face. "Are you calmer now?" she whispered, her hand not leaving my breast as she began teasing my n****e. I let out a sharp, raspy breath, keeping my gaze locked on hers. "Uh... I feel better?" "Want me to suck you off?" she asked. I stared at her for a long moment before digging my hands into her hair. I pressed her against myself, wrapping my arms around her back and letting my fingers draw invisible lines over her skin, my rapid breaths colliding with hers. "They fixed a blind date for me." I said after a while, breaking the silence between us. "A blind date?" she asked, detaching from me slightly so she could look at my face. I nodded. "Yeah. With the mayor of the West's son." "Valerius?" "You know him?" I asked with raised brows while she nodded her head. "Yeah, everyone knows Valerius," Persie said with a dry laugh. "The playboy with three sons from different breeds." "Okay, I see why my sister was audacious enough to suggest him. A guy like that is the exact kind of gift she'd give the family, isn't it?" Persie offered a small smile. "Does it piss you off that much?" "It does! I mean, why would she even consider marrying someone like Gideon? Why Gideon of all people? Can't I be pissed?" I asked, sinking back into the mattress and pressing the heel of my palm against my forehead. It was the only way to keep my anger from turning into a full-blown headache. "You shouldn't give her the satisfaction," Persie said gently. "And besides, you were furious on the phone earlier, what was that about?" Oh. Now I had to remember Elias again. Ugh! "You know what? I think I'm actually going to go on that blind date." "You're going?" "Yeah, I think I need to, no matter how much I hate the idea right now." "What happened?" Persie asked, relaxing her head against my chest while I stroked her hair gently. "Did you meet up with Elias? What did he say? Was he angry with you for not showing up earlier?" "Well... that bastard wanted me to sleep with him," I said. Persie sat up, not fully off the bed, but high enough to read every flicker of emotion on my face. "Isn't that a good thing?" she asked, a smile tugging at her lips, though she held it back when she saw no triumph in my eyes. "It should be, but his motive is completely twisted. And to make it worse, he knew this entire time that I had a thing for him." Her mouth fell open. "What? He knew? And he didn't say anything?" She asked, frowning deeper after each question. I sighed, closing my eyes against the stinging shame. "Should I have expected anything less from him? Thinking about it now, I'm just so embarrassed." I recalled the suffocating air in his office, his mocking smirk, the way he had backed me against the wall. "I'd better just go to sleep and forget about him." Persie lay back down, resting her head over my heart. "Just try and forget him, okay? He's not worth it." "I wish I could," I whispered. I opened my eyes and stole a quick kiss from her lips. "I really wish I could stop fantasizing about him." I kissed her again, my hand rustling into her dress. She pulled her arms away to give me better access underneath her lingerie. "That's why I'm definitely going on that blind date..." I murmured near her nape, my fingers delving into her wetness. She squirmed, her hips twitching as I kissed her. I flipped us over, topping her immediately as I stripped off my clothes and tossed them onto the floor. I drowned myself in her, kissing down her neck while her hands dug into my hair, her body tensing, rising and falling wherever my lips touched. "If only... I could have him sprawled on the bed... under me like this..." I whispered against her ear, kissing her reddening lobe. "I wouldn't want anything else." "Kiss me, Sandy..." Persie slurred out, pulling my face down to hers, planting her parted lips against mine as her arms wrapped tightly around my neck. When I woke up, the morning sun was already high in the sky. I was tucked beneath the heavy sheets with no clothes on, my body warm and aching. I sat up quietly, my thighs sore as I tried to clear the sleep from my vision. The bed beside me was empty, but I could hear the faint sound of running water coming from the adjoining bathroom. My phone alarm started blaring on the nightstand. I reached out, killing it instantly, and swung my legs over the edge of the bed until my feet hit the cold rug. My clothes were scattered all over the floor. I stood up, scooped up Persie's abandoned silk lingerie, and slid it on before walking over to the vanity. Catching my reflection in the mirror, I stopped dead. My neck was covered in dark crimson hickeys, spreading down over my collarbones and spilling into the deep neckline of the lingerie. We had definitely gone too far last night. f**k. I gathered my messy hair into my hands, searching the vanity table for a hair ribbon. I found one and tied my hair up into a loose knot just as the bathroom door clicked open. Persie stepped out, wrapped in a plush red robe, steam clinging to her bare shoulders. "Hey, you're awake," she said, strolling over to press a soft kiss against my cheek. "Yeah, I am," I murmured, pulling her into a tight hug. I buried my face in the crook of her neck, inhaling the sweet, fresh scent of her soap. "You still smell as good as always." She laughed softly, pushing me back by my shoulders. "And you need a bath before we go downstairs for breakfast." She turned toward the walk-in closet, her robe sweeping behind her. Halfway there, she paused and glanced back over her shoulder. "you're not going to work early today right?" I rolled my eyes, groaning at the mere thought of corporate life. Oh no, not going to see that man's face again today. "I think Elias called earlier," Persie added casually. My heart did a violent, sudden flip in my chest. My gaze snapped straight to my phone on the nightstand. "Elias called? Why?" Persie pulled a hanger from the rack, not looking at me. "He's eating breakfast with the family today." "WHAT?!"
