I smirked. I'm definitely finding out, and from that moment on, I could barely wait for the new week to begin. Anything to keep my hopes up through the weekend, that was all I focused on until Monday finally rolled around and I was up early, preparing for work. I took the most luxurious bath I hadn't given myself in a long time, soaking in rich oils and intoxicating scents, making sure my skin was soft, smooth, and silky. I washed and styled my hair to perfection and put on a fresh, glowing face of makeup, nothing too heavy, just enough to look effortless. A permanent smirk wore on my face as I stood before the vanity mirror. I could barely hear Gregory reciting his endless list of instructions from my mother as he stood by my open bedroom doorway, but I completely tuned him out.
