ALMA'S POV Fear crawled up on my skin and my heart wanted to jump out of my chest. His eyes suddenly glowed, his voice grew deeper, he was about to unleash his wolf at me and all I could do was stand there, staring like a fool. I couldn't move even if I wanted to, my legs had gone jelly on me. He squinted, staring at me with what seemed like confusion now, his body suddenly grew closer and he seemed to take in my... Scent? His hand suddenly touched my face, tracing the shape of it and then his thumb caressed my lips. Like breaking free from a spell, he snapped away from me and grumbled in a low tone. "Get out..." This time, he didn't even look at me anymore. I couldn't bring myself to obey even though i wanted to. I just stood there staring at him. Then a second command had me dashing towards the exit before I even realized it. "Get out!!!" He barked at me, causing a soft whisper to escape from my mouth as I raced for the door. I didn't stop, not until I got to my bedroom. Closing the door, my back leaned against it for support. My hand subconsciously trailed to my chest, feeling the rhythm of my unsettled heart beat. My heart was pacing but not for the reason i thought. It wasn't fear but the feel of adrenaline rushing through my veins. Earlier when he touched me, my body had become... Excited. "What is wrong with me?" I asked myself breathlessly. I jumped at the sudden knock on my door, a short gasp escaping my throat. At a second knock, I inhaled and exhaled softly, an attempt to calm my nerves. Then I opened the door. Standing before me was Jace, eyes glowing and a gentle smile on his face. "I don't mean to disturb you, you must have been asleep judging from your clothes." I looked down at myself, not remembering that I had already changed into my pajamas. "Right." I smiled, as much as I wished to make it look real, even i could tell it was very fake. His smile lessoned and worry creased his forehead. "Can I come in?" His voice was soft yet thrilling. I nodded my head and moved away from the door. As he walked in, I closed it gently and went to sit on the bed while he sat on the couch. My pajamas were short, very short, though perfect for the summer weather. I felt so exposed in his presence, not to mention the fact that the top was spaghetti arms and my n*****s stood obviously through it. I could do nothing but hope he wouldn't have the time or need to look at my body. He sighed softly. "In this life, people are jerks. They'll always be and I am sorry that you had to experience something like that today." At his words, the memory flooded my thoughts again, first day of school and I had been forced to take sedatives twice while in school and once at home just so I could sleep. My senses were starting to get a little dull and relaxed thanks to it. At least i was still in my right mind when I confronted Jeremy. Just the thought of his name provoked anger inside of me. Oddly, it provoked other... Weird feelings inside of me too. "Alma?" Jace's voice pierced through my thought bubble as he called. I blinked, not realizing I had zoned out. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Would you like me to talk to the school management about what happened? Have those idiots kicked out as well?" "No!" I responded sharply. "As much as I would love to see those idiots pay for what they did, i don't think i would relish such attention on me." He let out a soft sigh, nodding his head as well. Silence dominated as he seemed to be lost in his thoughts. Then my eyes took hold of this opportunity to soak in his details. He had on a casual black top and some relaxed pants in a grey ish kind of color, yet I felt my middle tingle. How a man could look so hot in such clothes was beyond me. His hair was messy like he had run his fingers through it more than once and his perfectly structured face was calm. His eyes though seemed distant, like he was lost in thought. Then he suddenly rose to his feet, his attractive lips curved into a smirk. "I was wondering..." He drew his words in a way that caused anticipation to control me. "If you would like to try something... To help you relax." Something lit up inside of me and my body suddenly felt so anxious to find out what he wanted to do. "Wh--what is that?" "I don't know if I should suggest something like that, I don't want to make you stressed or make you feel pain." Confusion caused my brow to twitch. "What? What could that possibly be?" He stopped right in front of me and reduced himself to one knee. My heart began to race as his hands were placed on the bed so close to my body. Almost like he was going to hold my waist. He was so close to my face now, only a breath away and his eyes never left mine. "Yes, for some, it could be quite stressful and a little painful to do it with me." "It...?" I muttered. He smiled. "What do you say? I won't force you to do what you don't want to. But I promise you I'll make it as pleasing and painless as it can be." His words set off every nerve in my body, my middle was throbbing, aching for something I had never thought i would ache for. Then without thinking, without hesitation, my lips parted and I responded, words I never thought I would say. "Let's do it." His lips drew back in a smile. "Perfect."
