Chapter 26 The tents of the Siren’s Realm had no shadow of the blackness clinging to their bright canvass. A gentle breeze swayed the fabric as Maggie and Bertrand bolted past. The scent of sea air filled Maggie’s tired lungs. The Siren had healed her skin, but not the terrible fatigue that pulled at every bit of her. Bertrand turned down a wide lane of bright blue tents, then onto a narrow alley of tents with sparkling red thread marking their seams. The sounds of the roaring crowd found distinction as they neared the fountain square. Music cut under the cheers. Bright, happy music that spoke of days in the endless light, not of death and decay.
