Chapter Ten Faith came to wakefulness just in time for her back to begin screaming its displeasure at her. Wincing, she slowly rolled from her side to her back, staring up at the ceiling. The sun was just beginning to creep in through the large windows, glazing the ceiling with its golden tribute to a new day. She’d slept surprisingly well considering she was in a sleeping bag on a hard floor. She’d turned off the kerosene heater around midnight when her phone alarm woke her to do so. She didn’t want to chance a horrible accident happening. It was definitely cold in the upstairs of her building now, however.
