9: Shuttle City [17th March, 2013]

“Wait a second,” G checks the description of his quest. “This isn’t the usual quest! This is a personal quest… for me…”

PERSONAL QUEST!

G!

So now that you are reading this, it’s time for you to take your swords magic training seriously. I have a condominium in this city actually… just in case I go undercover as a human and not as a god. On the next page of this quest, you’ll find a key and a letter of permission so that you can access my unit. The place is called Fate of the Future Condominiums. If you are lost, check the map for specific details.

In my room, you’ll find a scroll in front of the living room. I placed it there for you to immediately see it when you enter. Do not worry, nobody can enter my room except for me… and unfortunately… you.

PS: There’s nothing in the unit that you can use against me if we ever get into an argument~ SARREY~

“Orchid Wednesday Leya, OWL…” G raises his eyebrows, “Sounds about right… that conniving goddess… ”

While strolling along the streets of the white city, G decides to use the golden map disguised as an old map to check where his next destination will be. The red dot blinks towards Kingdom of Memories. Wondering how or why he’ll end up being there, G calls out Index Atlas.

“Index…”

The map replies to him in his via telepathy.

“You called, G?”

“So… I want to ask about the most important use of the golden map… you know… providing me data about the places I have been through?”

“So you want me to start from the beginning, is that what you are asking for?”

“Yeah, I want you to start from when the first time you became the cartographer of my life.”

“So you are using my terms now,” Index laughs. “Well… for starters…”

Dream Entrance of Alphabeta

In Destiny Island, southeast of Destiny Town, there is a mountain named Mt. Fate where the Temple of Destiny is perched. Aside from this being a temple, a part of it is turned into a guild called the Dream Entrance of Alphabeta with the goddess being its guild master. This was where your adventure began. You were chosen by the goddess of destiny because she believes that you are the chosen one. Of course, now that you found out that there are other chosen ones… you may have to prove that you are the one. Finding out what I meant is just for you to discover, G. After all, other chosen ones are probably experiencing the same curiosity like you are right now…

“Great…” G sighs… “This has become very confusing for me… and I hope all of the other chosen ones are also confused like me…”

“Well you know that’s harsh…” Index smirks, “but I do believe that they are having a more difficult time than you.”

“Why is that?”

“Because you have me explaining things and guiding you around the map~”

“Right,” G scratches his head. “I guess I’m glad to have you around…”

Isolated Temple

Found in the center of Isolated Island, south of Isolated Village, this temple which was trespassed upon and vandalized by those scums, was once like Destiny Temple… visited daily by artists, writers, sculptors medical scholars and the learned healthcare agents to have the blessing of the pharaoh god Hamen Isol who is said to be mummified deep under. Well, the temple is wrecked inside… At least, you were given the Isolator, right? So make him proud.

“Well… true, the Isolator is indeed an epic weapon, but what about those that were stolen?”

“For now, let us worry about making you stronger… G.”

“Then again… you are right about that…” G sighs, “the stronger I become, the lesser I worry about the bigger issues.”

Last Resort

In Memory Island, south of the Kingdom of Memories, there is a place protected by a powerful magic that repels the greater evil protected by the mysterious god of life Lementa. You might never meet him because he is a very ancient creation of the Supreme Being of Sleep. However, you are granted the Unbreakablade. This sword is only used for one purpose, the destruction of evil. Although you are probably neutral because you had s*x with Dr. Shiela, I didn’t know you were a playboy.

“Hey I’m no playboy,” G denies the allegation. “She told me she’s on the pill and locked her arms around my neck… what am I supposed to do?”

“Well, she’s a hot mom… so that’s one way to tempt you…”

High School City

So, this is one of the two megacities in Alphabeta Region aside from BLINX Terminal. However, the Terminal is a combination of five cities. If the five cities in the terminal were separated from each other, High School City will be the largest city in all of Alphabeta. That was just a trivia… So High School City is divided into five schools and the one at the center is where you studied for four years, Babylon High. This High School is unique because a there is a god in hiding and posing as a principal… for god knows how long or how he manages to fool everyone. Sade is the god of humanity, existence, essence, emotions, and most important of all SIN. He turned this into a power source and gives it exclusively to its students. Due to this power source, once a student studies in Babylon, he won’t be allowed to transfer to other schools notwithstanding the reasons. There is more to the power of sin and you know this because you studied there.

G nods, “Every year, one student gains the power of a Deadly Sin. When I was a freshman, my two best friends and also classmates were recipients of two of these Deadly Sins. Bobby Porkchop who was very generous… sharing his food to everyone was given the sin of Gluttony, while Maya Muchlater who was very diligent was given the sin of Sloth. Two of the sophomores had Pride and Lust, Two of the juniors had Envy and Greed, while one senior had Wrath. When he graduated, a new wrath from the freshmen was chosen.”

“Correct, but when you were freshmen, you were also chosen by a different kind of sin that comes once every fifty years… The Hidden Sins.”

“When I was a senior, the Seven Hidden Sins were completed. My sin was Vengeance, the others were Theft, Sacrilege, Apathy, Treachery, Defiance, and Artifice. Each sin differs in power from the other. As for my power of Vengeance, I become stronger and nimbler.”

“Damn you’re good,” Index seems impressed of G’s intellect. “Sin is a boosting power that activates when a sinner is enraged. For Deadly sinners and Hidden sinners, feeling their own sin or feeling the sin committed by others boosts their powers as well. So your feelings of revenge against your foes make you stronger.”

Underground Facility in Babylon High

As a human, Sade goes by the name Samon Detan. He secretly runs a weapon facility underground and makes cutting edge weapons that he might sell soon or he might be creating those weapons and armors for us the gods. Your Titanium Bat is one of the three titanium-alloy based weapons that he created. You might discover something new by just using his creation. Try to use them next time…

“Oh my goodness, thank you for reminding me…” G seems to have forgotten what Sade told him about the bat. “Sade said that it has a hidden feature that I will really come to appreciate!”

Jungle Town

Southwest of Destiny Town is a place specifically made for the humanimal refugees who were caught in the crossfires of the war before. Ms. Cindy Lam, an A-Class guild member is a descendant of those refugees. She is of the Sheep race of Humanimals. Aside from that, thanks to your efforts, you didn’t just save one person’s life but the entire town itself. Of course, your name wasn’t in the news so you don’t get to be famous.

“I don’t want to be famous,” G sighs deeply. “Let’s be honest, there are people who were born wishing to be noticed. As for me, I rather do things anonymous than being widely known… It’s not that I don’t want to get noticed… but it I don’t need to become a celebrity or a hero to save people, right?”

“So you are humble as well, good for the nation,” Index grins happily.

BLINX Terminal

Five cities in one, found in the eastern part of Rich Island, is the capital city of the region. This is where the final boss is… if this were a game. But this is real life, so you need to get stronger because the corruption and the oppression need to be stopped. At the center is Brilliant City where the Black Tower is. The Black Tower’s grounds contain the largest land, air, water, and space transportation. At the zenith of this tower is the President Tremor Warden’s dwelling place while deep underground is the largest maximum security prison. At the north of BLINX Terminal is Lustrous City also known as the city of the largest wet market. Aside from that it has an abandoned port that had ships that’ sailed to Quasar Region before the President closed its doors. At the east is Incandescent City. It is the same as High School City because of its title as the city of schools but it is only second in rank against the former. At the west is the mountainous Neon City which is famous for its limitless mines due to the magical aura that sips underneath the land and seas of Alphabeta Region. Lastly, at the south is the largest medical city, X-ray City… there’s nothing more for me to say…

“Well at least I learned new things from you,” G ponders. “Which among these cities, aside from Brilliant City will I’ll be taken to next?”

“Let us hope that your destiny will take us somewhere nice,” responds Index positively. “Do you wish to continue?”

“Uh… yeah, we have not yet reached our destination,” G checks the map for directions.

“So uh… where was I? … … …Oh yeah…”

Pink Spring Town

A town found at the western most part of Rich Island where the so-called “miraculous hot spring” is found, Pink Spring Town had a reputation of being a boring place except of course for its hot springs. This town was the ideal place to hide the Holy Blade that your parents seemed to own. Listen, your parents were murdered because they were researching about gods and the myths that surround our kind. Which reminds me… the Holy Blade may look like a wooden stick, but don’t let its looks deceive you. This blade is made of Fantasium and is said to be sentient. Try using it when you get the chance… we may never know unless you try.

“Speaking of the sword, Index, I need you to help me decipher its writings.”

“Yeah, will do…”

Shuttle City

Finally, the last one so far, found at the south of X-ray City, protected by their own barrier that shields them against President Tremor’s forces, the pure white city of the future… I present to you Shuttle City. This white-themed futuristic city is built by the great engineers and alchemists of the past. Until now, this city still produces its best engineers and alchemists which is why this city looks like this. I won’t blame Orchid for buying a condo unit in this city… I mean they have everything, flying cars, sky roads… twenty years of seclusion from our corrupt government allowed them to progress this much. And that’s it…

“Thanks for the very long detail… never have I ever imagined that I listened to all of it,” G sighs. “I feel like my head will explode… but here we are… Fate of the Future Condominiums…”

“Just call me when you need me again…” the map finally goes silent.

Eighth floor, Room #10…

As G rests his feet and his brain inside Orchid’s Condo unit, he immediately found what he came for, the scroll Orchid wanted him to have. Checking the scroll out, G gets pumped.

“The scroll for the Phoenix Dance Fighting Style…” G examines every drawing depicting its creativity as a dance and as a fighting style. “This is going to be easy…”

He, again, finds another letter from her.

QUEST UPDATE!

G!

You made it! Now, for the next few days, I would like you to study that fighting style. That is actually my signature fighting discipline which was taught to me by father, the Supreme Being of Sleep. So… I planned this all out. Knowing you, you probably never entered my bedroom just yet and perhaps you are in my living room. That’s so respectful of you…

“Yeah whatever…” G does an eye-roll.

…I should tell you this though you can learn this fighting style that my father, the Supreme Being himself developed, within seconds. Lucky you, I have my older sister, since I’m the youngest… if you are not aware… She can help you learn the fighting style… that is if she would like to help…”

“Would like to help?” G shrugs off his shoulders, “Oh well, I might as well try…”

Knock on the door of my bedroom, she’s probably still there taking a break. Let’s hope it ends well…

“…end’s well… wait… by what she meant her sister… meaning… I’m going to meet another goddess?” G starts feeling like he wanna slam his head on the wall. “This is too casual for me to talk to heavenly beings…”

So G knocks on the door… and surprise-surprise, Orchid is on point… her sister is apparently there… like it’s scripted or something…

Rose Saturday Leya is goddess of memories and also the patron goddess of Memoria Region, the birthplace of G. Despite being the elder sister of Orchid, everything about Rose, except her big orange eyes and her personality, is smaller. She has short orange hair, her chest size is… obviously smaller than Orchid’s and she is also shorter in height than Orchid. She wears a yellow sleeveless uniform way different from Orchid’s red jersey-like uniform.

“You look surprised,” Rose, sounding like a child, reaches for G’s hand. “You must be Gabriel Crimson Fallasleep. My name is Rose Saturday Leya, but you can call me Rosa or Rose, whichever you like.”

G reluctantly shakes hands with her, but it is rude if he doesn’t, so he does it, “Nice to meet you, I guess…”

Grabbing his hand, she examines his physical attribute…

“You don’t look muscular to be chosen by Orchid,” she seems disappointed at his lean body built. “The one I chose looks more suitable than you~”

“What’s that supposed to mean, eh shorty?” Ticked off, G shoves his hand away from her, “I’m much more capable than you think!”

“What a disrespectful lad,” she takes out a hand sanitizer and cleanses her hands.

“Disrespectful?” G gets ticked off, “So that’s what she meant if she would like to help. I changed my mind, with the way you wash your hands as if I’m dirty, I’ll show you the ultimate disrespect and beat the s**t out of your chosen one!”

“What a bold statement,” she yawns, “for a scrawny young man~”

“Patience G, this little goddess is just testing you… Yeah… she’s just doing that, right?” G thinks to himself. “I’m really going to get back at her… I can finally feel my power of Vengeance sipping out of me. What about calling out Index? He might help…”

“You are deep in thought,” she grins at him, “I wonder if I broke your spirit already-”

“Index,” G invokes the god’s name while glaring at her.

“What did you just say?” ruining her mood, she glares back at him.

“You called?” the golden map shows up and answers his call. He turns around and sees Rose, “Surprised to see you here Rose, what’s with that glare?”

“So you chose this lean meat?” she continues to bash G. “Let me tell you that my chosen one is the legit one.”

“That’s the last draw you little dwarf!” G prepares to charge at her…

Except that, Index summons himself out of the golden map and stops him. He blocks G’s path and shakes his head, “I’ll handle this…”

Looking at Index, he is very tall about 7 feet, he is holographical and he looks cybernetic, his skin is shining gold while his eyes are gentle blue. Since G is looking directly at his eyes, he sees binary codes [1s and 0s] moving inside thinking that the god might be similar to artificial intelligence. The god of wisdom and knowledge also wears brown robes like that of a monk.

“Oh, so you have faith on your chosen one, huh?” Rose grins, “If that guy loses to my guy, I’ll consider reminding him the Phoenix Dance. After all, only chosen ones and gods are capable of learning this fighting style…”

“Of course, I have faith in G,” Index literally looks down on Rose. “That is if G wants to beat the crap out of your guy…”

“Game on! I’ll show you what disrespect means and I want you to memorize that!” G cracks his fists. “Where is this guy you are referring to huh?!”

“He’s in Kingdom of Memories,” Rose uses her godly powers to fire up a portal. “This is the fastest and cheapest way to travel there.”

G holds his jaw back into place in case it drops. “Uh Index, can you do that too?”

“Of course I can do that,” Index glances at him, “I just did that a while ago…”

“You used the map as a portal?” G can’t help but get excited, “Gods are awesome!”

“Hey, knock-knock! Shall we go?” Rose instantly ruins his excitement. “I can’t wait to see your scrawny little body get mauled.”

“You know,” G finally snaps hard and gets mad at her that he decides to give her some verbal abuse, “YOU KNOW IF I AM YOUR FATHER, I’LL DISOWN YOU AND I WOULD’VE WISHED THAT YOU WERE NEVER BORN! BECAUSE YOU ARE A DEMON NOT A GOD!”

Rose is silenced for a few moments…

Index can’t help but laugh hard, “You deserve that, Rose, and if he ends up beating your chosen one, you’d wished that you were never born…” he then turns to G, “Let’s go kid, you have her chosen one to beat up.”

“Yeah, I’m coming,” while walking towards the portal, G continues to glare at her. “I’ll get my revenge on you by beating up your guy…”
