*Flashback* “Really?… I make a pass at you and you take me to a 24 hour museum?” She grumbles The beautiful stranger laughed “I wanted to be a gentleman and get the first date out of the way” She looks up at him “I’m looking for mind blowing s*x not Chivalry” He smirked at her words and whispered with a promise “Don’t worry, I won’t be a gentleman when that time comes” *Flashback over* “I’m sorry Pete, I didn’t think I would get the job but I did” “It’s Wilde Industries, Lorraine, you know how they are and you know how I feel about them” He countered. Lorraine found herself explaining to her boyfriend of three years why she needed this job, and she loved Pete but frankly, she was starting to get irritated. The Wilde family even with countless charity foundations and their names practically stamped in almost every business venture in the world have been known mostly for some pretty wild scandals and it somehow caught up in Pete’s life —only he wouldn’t tell her how — so she could understand why he was worked up But Lorraine was quite tired of the waitressing jobs especially when she had a bachelor’s degree in Business. Plus, she had a mission. She was damn well meant for more than that and she wasn’t gonna let this slip through her fingers and Pete was just going to have to live with it “It’s not like I got any replies back from all the other companies I applied to Pete, I can’t just keep working minor jobs, it’ll take forever to pay off my bills Pete please understand. I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t have to” He sighed as she tried to relax him by rubbing his arms up and down as he contemplates her replies He finally looked up, eyes filled with concern and uttered “I’ll try to be cool with this Raine, but if anyone hurts you, I’m bringing that company down myself” “Alright, my hero” Amusement and flattery filling her veins at Pete’s concern Pete was her person. When they met Freshman year, which consisted of bumping into each other, coffee spilling all over the place and falling on her ass, They clicked instantly. It was your regular meet cute. Since then he became her first best friend and eventually became her first love, someone she could trust, someone whose smile comforted her in the softest way possible. They moved in together right after graduation and planned to get married in a few years and she never felt happier. She had always liked how safe she was with him, knowing he was there whenever she needed always kept her grounded and compelled to stay by his side and she wasn’t about to let that go. Not by a long shot. “When do you start?” He asked She answered a little nervously, “Monday” Raine heaved a heavy sigh, smoothening her skirt, her long hair in a tight ponytail, running through different preparations in her head as she stepped into the building where she would spend,Lord knows how long, in working. She was ready for this. Just don’t trip on your first day Lorraine. Or choke. That would be embarrassing Wilde Industries recently opened a new company here in Solvang County a few years ago while she was in college and they’ve already made their mark here. Owning a couple of small town businesses, investing in the winery and agriculture. They put this small town right on the map in less than three years.Turning the small town into a city After a short tour by another assistant, she was directed to the first floor and asked to wait in the CEO’s office It was large and… Black. Half of the office anyway with a light grey There were couches on the left and behind the desk was a floor to ceiling window overlooking the city She’d heard of Christian Wilde, seen him on tv and the papers even though he rarely appears much on them. The First son of the Wilde family, the genius who branched out with the investment property management companies he inherited from his grandfather and known to have sold some of his inventions to a few companies but has recently been working with his father, since he’s the CEO here. Not exactly a rebel but not exactly a pushover either. Other than that, he’s practically the only one in the family we’ve barely heard anything about. He’s known to keep his private life tight lipped. His office emulates what he’s been described as. Quiet, Intimidating and fierce. She slowly walked across the room, sizing up the desk and shelf on the right. No pictures.. Just filled with books, a few files and a baseball with a signature on it inside a glass box She moved behind the desk and trailed her hand unconsciously on the table, as if imprinting it into memory. She touched an open file on the table with a company’s name on the paper, she looked closely at the familiar name trying to recall where she had seen it before.. “Do you usually sniff around people’s privacy or is this just a rare occurrence” She jerked back in shock at the voice and looked up with eyes wide Oh shit..
