Chapter 5When the new day dawned Alec awoke groggily beside Tuxtax and Caerula.
“Good morning, loves.” Caerula yawned.
Alec blushed as he realized he still held Tuxtax’s hand. He quickly let it go, hoping that Caerula hadn’t noticed.
“Were you able to find your family in the Dreaming?” Caerula asked.
Tuxtax nodded. “Yes, ma’am. She’s by the Anchor Rock. Alec is going to take me there.”
“That’s very sweet of you, Alec. Just be safe, I beg you.”
“Of course, Mother,” Alec replied. He faced Tuxtax, and asked, “Would you like some breakfast before we leave?”
“No, I just want to go home.”
“I understand,” Alec sighed, unable to mask the disappointment in his voice. He helped Tuxtax exit the tree and in an instant, both were airborne.
