Aldrin laughed at Vionne, his voice and laughter louder than the noise of the rain, but he also stopped abruptly when lightning suddenly struck, followed by the roar of thunder.
"Ah... Ah... okay, bye!" Vionne suddenly turned away. Her face flushed with embarrassment as she walked the pathway leading to the small house.
She really thought Aldrin was referring to the big house Alex had left her. She misunderstood and felt ashamed of Aldrin because of his accusations that he wanted her out.

Vionne felt ashamed of herself too. She hoped again. She marched in irritation towards herself and knocked on the door. Her mother promptly opened it.
"Child, it's good that you're here. Did Aldrin bring you? Look, Aldrin gave us a house and land." Vionne's mother greeted her.
