I'm Sorry

Three days had passed since Emily and Fred last saw each other. Two sweethearts that couldn't stay without seeing each other even just in three hours, now three days past. It seems the issue is getting serious between them. The frustration grew in Fred, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that Emily had intentionally hurt him. He believed she knew exactly what she did and had decided to be with her new billionaire lover. Fred felt he had no chance of competing with him, being a broke guy. "I never knew Emily would do this to me," Fred soliloquized. "She left me, a woman I grew up with, shared meals with, cried with, and found joy and comfort in. I never saw this coming. Now I understand why they say money attracts women's hearts. Money can actually buy their love." Fred decided to drown his sorrows at the nearest bar, using the little money he had saved from his farm produce to buy expensive drinks until he was left with a few dollars in his pocket. As he sat at the bar, nursing his drink, he spotted a girl in pink sitting alone on the chair opposite his, looking bored. "I think she needs a man," Fred thought to himself. I need to make myself happy. Now that Emily is gone, this is an opportunity to get a girl." Fred, being drunk, staggered and almost fell to the ground as he walked towards the girl. Reaching her, he whispered, "Babe, let's go home." Without saying a word, she got up, and they left the bar together. They went to Fred's house, where he collapsed on the bed immediately and fell asleep. He was highly intoxicated, and his strength is gone. Meanwhile, Emily had been thinking about Fred nonstop. She had wanted to visit him the past three days, but domestic work had kept her busy. Her parents had been away, and she had to take care of her brother, Leo. They only returned home at about 7:00 pm that day. "I just really have to rush to Fred's house now," Emily thought to herself. "It's been three days since we last saw each other." She got up, walked to Leo's room, and said, "Leo, let me go see Fred. I'll be back soon." She shut the door and left, heading to Fred's house. As she approached Fred's house, she noticed the door was slightly opened. "What could have happened? Fred has never left his door open. He always warned me never to leave the door open because one might sleep off and the criminal boys may sneak in and steal valuable items." Her curiosity piqued, she cautiously drew the curtain and was shocked to see Fred lying on the bed with another woman. "What the hell is going on here?" Emily screamed, her voice shaking with anger. "So you've actually been cheating on me?" Fred jerked up, disoriented, and saw Emily standing in the doorway, her eyes blazing with fury. "Emily, look... I can explain," Fred stammered. "You know I've never been caught with another woman. Never have I ever tried to...f*CK with another woman, and you know that. You pushed me to the wall. I was frustrated, and I had to go take some alcohol." "You go take some alcohol, and then... You won a free pink drink lying on your bed, right? "Believe me, nothing happened. I can swear with my life." Emily took a deep breath, trying to process what she was seeing. She moved across the room, then turned and moved closer to Fred, her eyes locked on his. "Hard to believe a man who was caught lying down with another woman. But come to think of it, he could be right. A similar situation I found myself in a few days ago with Bryan. And truly nothing happened between us," she thought within herself. Fred got up, moved closer to Emily, and grabbed her hands. He looked into her eyes; he knew he made a mistake when Emily explained to him that nothing happened between her and Bryan. "I was being stupid not to believe you a few days ago. Now, I'm in a similar situation, babe. I now believe that you did nothing with that stranger, Bryan. If I could be on the same bed with this lady and we didn't do anything, then it's possible with you too. Please forgive me for not believing you." Emily looked into Fred's eyes, saw the sincerity and remorse, and knew he was telling the truth. "I now believe you," Emily said, her voice softening. "I'm sorry too." They hugged, and their lips met in a passionate kiss, rekindling their love and forgiveness. As they pulled back, Emily asked, "Who is she?" Fred looked sheepish. "I don't even know her name. I met her at the bar, and we... well, we came home together." Emily smiled wryly. "I think we both made mistakes. But I'm glad we can forgive each other. I think we should stop taking alcohol." Fred nodded, relief washing over him. "Me too, babe. Me too." As they stood there, holding each other, Emily realized that their love was stronger than any mistake they could make. They had weathered the storm, and now they can now enjoy their love again. "I love you, Fred," Emily said, her voice filled with emotion. "I love you too, Emily," Fred replied, his eyes shining with happiness. As they hugged again, Emily knew that their love would overcome any obstacle, no matter how difficult. They had learned to forgive each other and themselves, and their love was now stronger because of it. "Fred, I have to leave; only Leo is at home. The lady, what are we going to do about her?" "She must leave now," Fred replied and tapped her on the bed asking her to leave immediately. The next morning, Emily and Fred woke up early, feeling refreshed and renewed in their respective homes.Emily had no idea that that same day her joy wouldn't last till evening. Her relationship is going to be tested. This time around, can she withstand the pressure? this pressure this time around is no longer their doubt for each other but something beyond.
