13. His Way

*Killian's Point Of View* As soon as someone linked me, letting me know Mya and the prisoners had escaped, I honestly wasn't surprised. I mean, they're prisoners, so, of course. But, when they told me my mom helped them, I almost blew my top. She knew how much this plan meant to me. She knew how much I wanted. No, needed my mate here one way or another, and yet she helped them escape? Not even them. She helped my mate escape from me... realizing that hurt, and pissed me off. Why was my mom so against my happiness? There were a little over a hundred rogues who decided they wanted to try their luck at killing us. They obviously forgot that in their Maddened state, they were nowhere near as strong as a coordinated pack. I let my pack finish them off so I could get to my mate before she really did escape. I continued to follow her scent until a few rogue scents mixed in with hers. As soon as we recognized it, my wolf was on full alert. They were dead as soon as they decided to trespass. If they hurt her, I'll make sure their death is slow and as painful as possible. When I was finally able to see her, a rogue was on top of her, about to kill her! My heart stopped at the sight. I let my wolf take control. He's been begging to take control, I just wasn't sure if he'd go mark Mya against her will, and I don't want that. I only threatened her to show her I mean it when I say I want her. Shes the only one now for the rest of my extremely questionable life. My lovely little angel. Lykos took over without hesitation and shredded every rogue he could find apart. He loved the thrill, probably a little too much in my opinion. When he was finally satisfied with his work, he gave me back control. There was blood everywhere. You would think this was set up for a movie. "Find our mate." Lykos snapped. "Maybe if you didn't get carried away with your bloodlust, we wouldn't have to search for her again!" I'm so tired of this wolf's attitude. Knowing I was right, he huffed and disappeared to his favorite area in the back of my mind. After a few seconds of searching, I found her scent leading toward the river. It amused me knowing shes trying to hide her tasty cherry scent from me. She could never outrun me. I only had to run for a few minutes since the river wasn't very far away. When I finally got to the river, I was still out of sight of them. I watched as she took complete authority and safely helped them across the river. She cares for them so much; she would've been an amazing alpha to that pack. They would've been a strong pack. I know that. But, I had to do what I did. Axel refused to let me or my pack anywhere near their land or Mya, ever since that night he killed my dad. He wasn't even going to tell her about my existence! He was just going to let her think she didn't have a mate. I couldn't let that happen. I could've overlooked his betrayal of my father if he just let me have Mya. Of course, he's one stubborn, unloyal bastard. I snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed she only had one person left to help across the river. I started to move closer to her. As I got close enough, I could see her stiffen as soon as she noticed my presence. She kinda jolted like she wanted to run on instinct, which caused me to chuckle a little. When she took her first step, I immediately grabbed her waist with my hand to pull her back. When she hit my chest, I wrapped both my arms securely around her. Her feisty little self kicked and punched me harder than I thought she could. Every second I'm with her, I'm loving her more and more. My feisty little mate. "Let me go!" She screamed and aimed for my eyes, trying to scare me. I turned her to face me. Looking into her eyes was the most amazing thing. I could spend all day looking into her eyes. I've never seen anything with so much life, Color, and strength. Realizing that filled me with fear. I can't lose her. She was literally made for me, as I took in every detail of her. I became so nervous having all these feelings at once for the first time, which was too uncomfortable. I instinctively hugged her for comfort, maybe a little too tightly, but I needed this. I'll make it up to her later. "I don't care if you hate me, I don't care if you take it out on me every single day. But, DO NOT ever run away from me again. Don't put yourself in danger just because you hate me." I poured my heart into her ear, hoping she would understand at least to take care of herself, as I wrapped her in a hug again. These hugs will be my favorite thing. They calm my wolf and me down fast. She's our drug, and we're already addicted. He hasn't made a peep since she's been in our arms. He's never quiet, so it's a very welcome surprise. "That's a funny request from someone who put my life in danger first." Her remark hit a nerve. "You truly don't know how much danger you were in, staying at that pack. I saved your life." "Yeah, right, the person who invaded my home, killing my pack, saved me." She started laughing as she had just completely broken. Making me worry about her state of mind. She stopped laughing abruptly, looking into my eyes. "I'll stop fighting as long as you let Mimosa go." Hearing her say she'd stop fighting me if I let her friend go amused me. I had always planned to let the girl go so long as she wasn't a threat to my people. Hey, I'll take it tho, the faster it is to get her to accept me, the faster I can tell her about everything. Claiming a kiss from my mate, I threw her over my shoulders. "Beta Brax, bring Miss Mimosa with us." "What? I thought—" She will be put in a guest room. If she holds no knowledge that I need, I will let her go. If you had been a bit more patient, you would've seen me start letting them go one by one. If they were to choose to stay in my pack, I would've let them." I told her honestly. "I don't believe you, and I don't regret my actions. The remaining members of my fallen pack are finally free." "Love, I wouldn't call being on the other side of that river free. It's still my land." Turning towards the trees, they were still obviously hiding and watching us from. "You can live as rogues if you wish. If another pack will take you, so be it. But, for those og you who want to stay, and be a part of my pack. You can come back at any time. I only demand loyalty." Knowing fear of the unknown, and the inability to leave their alpha/Luna behind, would force them to crawl back, needing to stay by her side. "Are you insane? Why would they swear their loyalty to the man who killed their alpha? They never will." "Did you never go to school? Wolves swear their loyalty to men who kill their alphas all the time. Just watch, some will come back." If not all of them, I need to teach my mate the strength wolves hold with their alphas. She doesn't even realize her wolves hold an even stronger bond with her than usual. I can already sense them following us back. "You killed fathers, mothers, daughters, sons, sisters, brothers. That's not so easily forgettable." "It is when the need to survive is stronger than the grief they hold." Staring at my annoyed mate, my love for her deepened. She already unknowingly had me wrapped around her little finger. I just need her to understand why I did what I did. Lykos suggested letting those pack members go would entice her to finally listen to me. I hope he's right. But, my mom... I'll deal with her later. I know I'll see her again.
