The Alpha King

1. A New Alpha

As soon as we walked out of the back door of our pack house. A light breeze touched my skin, and I looked up at the full moon. It made all the bad feelings and nerves vanish. I then noticed the back of the stage, where I would be announced as their alpha.

Some other packs were against me becoming alpha. But, my father shut down their complaints. Saying that I was the rightful alpha, not some arrogant asshole that probably just wants what comes with the title. He told them that I was more than capable because of who I came from. Two alpha mates aren't something that happens often. Nor an alpha daughter from the two.

As we exited the house, my mother appeared out of nowhere to join us. She had that thing about her where she would pop up out of nowhere. Always at random times, too. I shook it off as we all walked to meet our pack.

I could hear their murmurs, asking where we are. I guess they're getting a little antsy to go for the ceremonial run. It caused me to chuckle at my pack's impatience.

I let my parents go before me so they could start the introduction. As I was waiting for my queue to go up. I felt this weird sense of dread, I've never felt anything like it. It scares me. I looked around the forest, feeling eyes on me. But, Couldn't see anything out of the usual.

"Mya please grace us with your presence." I heard my father bellow.

I pushed the weird feeling to the back of my mind and walked up to the stage. As soon as I was on the stage, the whole crowd erupted in applause.

"ALPHA!"

"WE FINALLY GET OUR NEW ALPHA"

My Father mind linked them all to quiet down. Instantly, there were no sounds, other than the light breeze.

"Good evening, as you all know. We are here to introduce Mya as your new alpha. This ceremony will be different, seeing how we have our alpha but no luna. So, We'll do the half for the alpha. Instead of introducing a Luna. You all will shift and go for a run with your new Alpha." Father projected to the whole crowd.

I walked to the center of the stage beside the podium in front of the microphone. Looked at every member of my pack. Took in a deep breath.

"Hello, members of the Golden Moon pack. Thank you all for coming to this very special event. Also, thank you for trusting me to be your leader, and protector. I'll prove my worth. You'll never regret it. I promise you." With that, I looked at my father, Alpha Axel, and Luna Anne, my mother.

Alpha Axel walked up to the bowl attached to the podium. Looked at the crowd tenderly, remembering all his years as their alpha. He would always miss the times, and cherish every memory he had with his pack members. He then looked at his very strong, independent daughter and knew. They would be okay.

"I, Alpha Axel, hereby denounce myself as your alpha." Axel cut his palm and let blood ooze out of the cut until it healed. Then it was my turn. I walked and stood beside my father, looked at the blade, and then at the crowd. I grabbed the blade and did the same.

"I hereby introduce you to Alpha Mya!" Applause erupted everywhere. The biggest smile appeared on my face. My pack fully accepts me as their alpha. As a female with no mate.. I couldn't be happier to have them as my family.

As soon as everyone's wolves recognized me as their alpha, I felt the blinding pressure and then a painful snap in my head. It was almost too much to withstand. But then it was completely gone, like it never happened.

"What was that dad?" Before he could answer, she answered for him.

"Well, what do you think it was?" ... My eyes became saucers as I looked at my dad. "I finally have my wolf!!" I shouted a little too loudly. I was just so excited! I've been waiting years to meet her.

"What's your name?" I rushed. Before she answered, I felt this excruciating pain all over. "What's happening to me?!" I screamed for help. But no one came to help. I looked around as best as I could against the pain, and saw my parents' sorrowful eyes, just watching me...

I was so confused about why no one was helping me, mad even. then it hit. I'm shifting! Instant dread filled me. This isn't going to be good. Shifting your first time without your mate is painful. Some even die from the pain.

I chanted to myself, "You're the daughter of two alphas. If anyone can get past this, it's you! You can do this!" Over and over again, until there was no more pain. I looked up and saw my parents looking at me with awe-stricken eyes. Like they were mesmerized by what they were seeing.

As I was staring at my parents, a little confused. This sharp pain radiated in my head. I dropped to the ground, begging this to be over, and just like that, the pain was gone, just like before. Except I was back in my human form. I didn't have time to think about why I was forced to shift back, when this loud, extremely obnoxious, shrill sound filled the whole field. Everyone jumped out of their seats trying to figure out who it came from. Frantically looking around for who needed help.

Everything was instantly in disarray. As everyone was panicking, I calmly grabbed some clothes that were prepared for after my run. I got dressed, ready to go help in the search. Before I could go ask anyone if they knew anything, I got that weird sense that I was being watched again. Dread consumed me as I walked off the stadium, around to the back.
