CHAPTER 8

1126 Words
WADE'S POV "f**k, Wade, please..." Lila's underneath me, her legs wrapped around my waist, nails digging into my shoulders as I pound into her. Her p***y's so tight, so wet, gripping my c**k like she was made for me. "Please what?" I growl, pulling out slowly just to slam back in, making her cry out. "Use your words, omega." "Please don't stop," she whimpers, and f**k, the sound goes straight to my d**k. "Please, I need... I need..." "You need my c**k?" I thrust harder, deeper, hitting that spot that makes her eyes roll back. "Say it." "Yes! I need your c**k, Alpha. Please, I'm so close..." I grip her throat gently, just enough pressure to make her gasp, and I lean down to bite her neck. Not hard enough to mark, but enough to make her moan. "Come for me," I command, my thumb finding her c**t. "Come all over my c**k like a good girl." She shatters, her p***y clenching around me so tight I can barely move, and I f**k her through it, chasing my own release. "That's it, take it all," I groan, feeling my orgasm building. "Gonna fill this tight little p***y up, make you..." BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. I wake up with a jolt, my c**k hard as f*****g steel and my sheets twisted around my legs. “Shit." I mutter, running a hand through my hair. It was a dream. Just a f*****g dream. I'm breathing hard, my body still throbbing with the residual sensations. I can practically still feel Lila's skin under my hands, hear her moans in my ear, smell her arousal. I reach down and grip my c**k through my boxers, and it takes every ounce of willpower I have not to jerk off right here thinking about her. Fuck. I glance at the clock. 5:47 AM. Might as well get up. I throw off the sheets and head to the bathroom, turning the shower to cold and stepping under the spray. The icy water does nothing to kill my erection, and I end up bracing my hands against the tile, trying not to think about what happened yesterday. About Lila in that elevator, her legs wrapped around my waist, her body trembling as she came on my c**k. About how f*****g perfect she felt, how right it was to be inside her. And then Sabrina showed up. Damn it. My jaw clenches at the memory of Lila's face when Sabrina called herself my fiancée. The way Lila's expression changed from post-orgasm bliss to shock to hurt. The way she stood there, trying to maintain her composure while Sabrina chatted away, completely oblivious. I should have corrected Sabrina right then and there. Should have told her to stop calling herself my fiancée because we broke up six months ago and she just refuses to f*****g accept it. But I didn't. Because explaining would have meant revealing what Lila and I had just done, and that would have opened a whole other can of worms. Sabrina's my ex. We were engaged for about six months before I realized she was more interested in my money and status than she was in me. I broke it off, told her clearly that we were done. She didn't take it well. She's been showing up at my office, my house, anywhere she can find me, acting like we're still together. Playing the role of the devoted fiancée even though I've told her repeatedly that it's over. I need to handle her. Need to make it crystal f*****g clear that she needs to move on. But first, I need to handle this situation with Lila. I finish my shower and get dressed, pulling on a charcoal suit and a crisp white shirt, then I head downstairs for breakfast. My head housekeeper, Mrs. Thea, has already set out coffee, bacon, and toast, and I’m halfway through my first cup when a voice breaks the silence. "Well, don't you look like a ray of f*****g sunshine this morning." I look up to see Zachary walking in like he owns the place, dressed in his usual casual attire, jeans and a t-shirt that probably costs more than most people's monthly rent. He’s my Beta, and he’s been for the past five years, one of the few people I can actually trust and tolerate on a daily basis. “What are you doing here?” I ask, taking a sip of coffee. “Good morning to you too, asshole.” He grabs a piece of bacon off my plate and bites into it. “You look like shit.” “Get your own breakfast,” I mutter, but I don’t actually stop him. Zachary and I aren’t childhood friends the way Liam and I are, but we’re close. Close enough that he can walk into my house uninvited and steal my food. “Rough night?” He plops down in the chair across from me, grinning like an asshole. “Let me guess… another blonde who wouldn’t take no for an answer?” “Something like that.” “Ah,” Zachary says, his tone turning to something more serious. “Anyway, I’m here because we have pack business to discuss. You know, that thing you’re supposed to care about?” "I care about pack business." "Could've fooled me." He grins, studying me with those sharp green eyes that miss nothing. "The Henderson situation needs dealing with. They're still pushing back on the territory agreement, and Alpha Matthew is getting antsy." "Tell Matthew I'll handle it." I drain my coffee. "Set up a meeting for next week." "Alright." He steals a piece of my toast now. "Also, Owen wants to know if you've made a decision about the new training facility. The construction crew is ready to start, but they need your approval on the final plans.” "Inform Owen I'll look at them today." "Will do." Zachary leans back, still watching me with that calculating look. "So... are we going to talk about why you're acting weird?" "What are you talking about? I'm not acting weird." "Bullshit. You're less... cold. Less 'I'm going to rip everyone's throat out if they breathe wrong.'" He grins wolfishly. "Wait, is there a woman? Did the great Wade Cross finally find someone who can tolerate his grumpy ass?" "There's no woman." "Liar." He points his toast at me. "You've got that look, Wade." "What look?" "The look that says you got laid recently and it was good enough to shake you up a bit." He takes a bite, chewing thoughtfully. "So who is she? Anyone I know?" "Drop it, Zach." “Come on, just give me a name.” He smirks. “I promise I won’t tell Liam.”
