Gerald It was strange walking through my apartment. I could smell her scent here. It was faint, but she had been here. I dropped my keys down on my kitchen counter by the front door and felt relieved to finally be home. I kicked my shoes off by the door and walked over to Steve's fish bowl situated by the window by the sliding balcony door. I watched him swim around happily in his dirty green water and I smiled at him. "Hey buddy, Daddy's home!" I watched him swim the length of his small round tank and wondered if maybe I should buy him a bigger one. I stood up straight and looked at the floors. I remembered that I had left my apartment a mess, but now it seemed like I had walked into a parallel universe where my parallel self was clean and organized instead of a giant, depressed slob. T
