Chapter 7: Tuesday Brian The day dragged, but Brian didn’t mind. He wasn’t looking forward to practice and facing his coach. He’d waited up for Jake and his uncle had performed one of the very few walks of shame he’d known him to do at just after three A.M. Yet Jake was up and making breakfast for them at seven. The thought of Jake behind the stove made Brian smile. His uncle had seemed genuinely happy. Younger even.
