Brian The front door was ajar and Brian knew where he’d find his uncle. He didn’t look forward to their inevitable talk, but it was best to get it over with. A pissed off Uncle Jake, he was more than capable of handling, on even his worst days. A disappointed Jakey was another thing completely. He wiped at the water that trickled down his cheek with his shirt’s hem and stepped onto the porch where his uncle sat on the swing, a condensing ice tea resting against his leg that pushed out to swing the chair. His heart weighed even heavier when he noticed another glass next to his uncle, waiting for him.
