Matt came to a standstill at his brother’s door and looked at his twin’s silhouette staring unseeingly out the window. A strip of moonlight shone through the window, casting an eerie light over Brian’s hunched shoulders. His form was broken. Arms wrapped around his middle, his position on the bed awkward. His brother’s breathing was erratic even though the set of his jaw showed how hard he was trying to calm himself by exhaling gentler breaths through his nose. His feet were bare, spread out before him and his right toe was curled severely. Something terrible had happened and Matt didn’t know how to get his brother to tell him what. “Brian.” Brian didn’t move to acknowledge him, so Matt walked into the room, slowly approaching his hero.
