Brian Brian stepped through the doors and was assailed by the smell of paperbacks and coffee. It was a homely smell, and it made him feel at ease immediately. Soft chatter filled the air, with the hum of coffee machines providing a constant background noise. His eyes sought out who he was there to see without any problem. Oliver’s confident stride and charisma set him apart from everyone else. He couldn’t help standing out in a crowd, even if he wanted to. Brian made his way to the counter and joined the line, patiently waiting his turn as thoughts of his uncle and brother played in his mind. He needed to get rid of this Adam weight around his neck, square things with his uncle, reassure his brother that he was doing fine and hopefully get things on the right track with Oliver, too. Oli
