Chapter 5: Sunday Matt It was late in the afternoon when his brother made his way out of his room. Matt sat discussing the year’s first print edition of the school paper with Lexie on the couch, a lazy Sunday spread of snacks littering the coffee table. She snapped her computer shut and took his tablet from him and replaced it with a soda instead. “Enough work. Your mind isn’t on it anyway.” Matt took a sip of his drink but kept his ears trained on the kitchen. He’d heard video game sounds come from Brian’s room all morning but he hadn’t ventured out before now, hunger probably driving him downstairs. His mind kept on returning to Brian, as it usually did.
