Unspoken

Episode One – Unspoken Beginnings It started with a link. Just a simple online link I asked my friends to post for me. I wasn’t even thinking about anything serious — I just wanted more people to connect with, maybe new chats, maybe new friends. And then he texted. His first message didn’t stand out much, and honestly, I didn’t pay him that much attention at first. I was distracted, maybe even a little guarded. He asked for my address that day, and I lied — of course I lied, I didn’t know him. But somehow, that random stranger from my contact list became my “bestie.” We never called. He never sent voice notes. I did, though. I don’t even know when I started caring about whether he replied quickly, or when I began noticing how my mood shifted depending on what he said. He would sometimes ask me strange questions, like, “Would you date a shy guy?” And I’d laugh it off, but deep down, I knew he was talking about himself. He’s shy — painfully shy — but I can read him better than he thinks. We both know there’s something between us. Something more than just casual friendship. But instead of saying it, we play this game — pretending to help each other “find a partner.” He’ll say, “You should find a boyfriend,” and I’ll say, “Well, I’ll find a girlfriend for you too.” It sounds playful, but it’s not. Because deep down, the thought of him being with someone else doesn’t feel right. We’re not dating. We’ve never even said we want to date. But there’s an invisible line between us, and every day, we step closer to it without crossing. And I can’t help but wonder — will one of us ever have the courage to break the silence?
