  Elizabeth's POV   A distant beep roused me from the dark. My limbs felt heavy, like being underwater. My eyelids quivered, refusing the opening capacity, their lashes stuck together. My head pounded loudly, and I groaned.   What the hell happened to me?   My nose caught a weird scent.   Was that medicine?   I opened my eyes, groaning as the bright ceiling lights burned my eyes.   White walls. Machines. Drips from the IV stuck onto the wrist.   A hospital.   Panic flared through me quickly. My heart pounded, causing one of the machines to sound its alarm.
