Lily's POV
I hardly had time to register Maggie's sudden arrival before I saw what she was carrying. My teddy bear. The one Josh had won for me.
My stomach clenched. As if crashing our date wasn't bad enough but now she'd taken my teddy? When had she even grabbed it? What the hell was wrong with this woman? Why wouldn't she just let me have peace?
Josh noticed it too. His face went still, his eyes darting to the plush toy in her hands. "Maggie," she said slowly, even though the voice was firm.
She pouted, tilting her head a little like a child asking for a favour. "Oh, I just found this sitting on the seat in here. Isn't it adorable?" She clutched it against her chest, its soft fur skin sinking beneath her fingers.
I narrowed my eyes. That was mine.
