The drive back was just as quiet as when they were coming. Jace maintained the same position he had been in during the journey, but this time, his eyes were open.
Just why is he this quiet and cold? Avalynn thought within herself.
He had been in this mood since he picked her up that morning. Why, though? Avalynn couldn't help but wonder.
“Are you okay?” The words fell out of her mouth.
“Yes, I'm fine,” Jace replied sharply.
Seeing that he wasn't in the mood to talk, Avalynn didn't ask any further questions. She turned in the other direction, looking out through the window.
She noticed the direction Adam was going was different from the one they had gone in.
“Where are we headed?” She asked.
“To my grandfather’s,” Jace replied. “I thought we already talked about it.”
