Emma stood in the center of the living room, arms crossed as Aiden walked in.
“You handled it?” she asked.
Aiden smirked. “You already know the answer.”
Emma exhaled. “Sophia is pushing too far.”
Aiden nodded. “Which means it is time to end her.”
Emma’s eyes gleamed. “I could not agree more.”
Bryce cleared his throat. “Sir, the Bella Amore press event is tomorrow. We need to make sure nothing disrupts it.”
Aiden’s smirk never faded. “Then we make sure Sophia is too busy cleaning up her own mess to cause any problems.”
Emma tilted her head. “What do you have in mind?”
Aiden walked closer, his voice low and deadly. “You wanted to see her destroyed, Emma?”
Emma nodded. “Yes.”
Aiden’s lips curled. “Then let’s make sure she never recovers.”
Emma’s pulse quickened. “How?”
Aiden leaned in slightly, his dark eyes gleaming. “By exposing every lie she has ever told.”
Emma smirked. “I like the way you think.”
Aiden’s voice was smooth as silk. “I am just getting started.”
As the night stretched before them, one thing became clear.
By tomorrow, Sophia Leonard’s career would be over.
“Sophia is scrambling.”
Isabel’s voice came through the phone, sharp and amused. Emma stood by the floor-to-ceiling window of Aiden’s mansion, watching the city lights flicker in the distance. She swirled the glass of wine in her hand, a slow smirk tugging at her lips.
“Of course she is,” Emma said smoothly. “She knows what is coming.”
“She has been making frantic calls all night,” Isabel continued. “She is trying to stop something, but no one knows what. Whatever Aiden is planning… she is terrified of it.”
Emma’s smirk deepened. “Good.”
Behind her, Aiden walked into the room, his presence alone commanding attention. He did not speak immediately, just watched her, his dark eyes unreadable.
Emma turned to him, raising a brow. “Did Bryce handle it?”
Aiden took a slow sip of his whiskey. “Handled.”
Emma exhaled. “Sophia will not recover from this, will she?”
Aiden set his glass down, stepping closer. “She will wish she never tried to play this game.”
Emma studied him, intrigued. “You enjoy this.”
Aiden’s lips curled slightly. “I enjoy winning.”
Emma chuckled. “Then let’s finish this.”
Aiden leaned against the edge of the desk, crossing his arms. “Tomorrow, at the Bella Amore press event, Sophia will walk in thinking she still has control.”
Emma tilted her head. “And then?”
Aiden’s voice dropped into something deadly. “And then, the world will see her for what she truly is.”
Emma’s pulse quickened, excitement flickering in her chest. “What exactly did you do?”
Aiden smirked. “You will see soon enough.”
Across the city, Sophia sat in her dimly lit penthouse, gripping her phone tightly. Her face was pale, her hands trembling.
Eden stood nearby, his expression tense. “We have a problem.”
Sophia’s eyes snapped to him. “No, Eden. We have a disaster.”
Eden hesitated before speaking. “Bryce got involved.”
Sophia inhaled sharply. “Aiden’s assistant?”
Eden nodded. “And that means Aiden himself is behind this.”
Sophia slammed her phone onto the table. “I knew it. He was always going to protect Emma.”
Eden exhaled. “And now, he is coming for you.”
Sophia’s mind raced. She had spent years building her career, carefully crafting her image. But if Aiden Brooks was truly moving against her…
She swallowed hard. “What exactly do they have?”
Eden hesitated. “I do not know yet. But if Aiden is involved, it will be bad.”
Sophia clenched her fists. “Then we have to get ahead of it.”
Eden sighed. “How?”
Sophia straightened. “By making sure tomorrow’s press event goes exactly how I want it to.”
Eden frowned. “You still think Bella Amore is choosing you?”
Sophia lifted her chin. “They will not have a choice.”
The next afternoon, the Bella Amore press event was packed. Reporters lined the walls, cameras flashing as the biggest names in the industry gathered.
Emma arrived alongside Aiden, the moment their presence was announced, the room’s energy shifted. Whispers spread like wildfire.
“She looks unstoppable.”
“Is she the new face of Bella Amore?”
“Did she really take Sophia’s spot?”
Emma walked with effortless grace, the confidence in her stride undeniable. Aiden was beside her, his presence overwhelming, reminding everyone that no one dared to cross him.
They reached their designated table, and Emma exhaled. “Sophia will be here soon.”
Aiden smirked. “Let her come.”
Minutes later, Sophia walked in, her smile bright but her eyes filled with barely concealed panic. She knew something was wrong.
Howard Taylor, the CEO of Bella Amore, stepped onto the stage, tapping the microphone. The room fell silent.
“Thank you all for coming,” Howard began. “Today, we are proud to announce the new face of Bella Amore. This decision was not made lightly, as we value both talent and integrity in our brand.”
Sophia straightened in her seat, her expression forced into confidence.
Emma simply smirked.
Howard continued. “After careful consideration, we have chosen…”
The pause was deliberate, the anticipation thick.
Emma exhaled slowly, already knowing what was coming.
“Emma Claire.”
The room erupted into noise. Reporters rushed forward, cameras flashing wildly.
Sophia’s entire body went rigid.
Emma stood gracefully, walking toward the stage as applause filled the hall. She felt every pair of eyes on her, felt the weight of her victory settling over the room.
Howard extended a hand, and Emma shook it, smiling as she turned to face the cameras.
Sophia, still seated, looked like she had been slapped.
Emma met her gaze, her smirk widening.
It was over.
Or at least, that was what Sophia thought.
Because just as Howard stepped away from the microphone, another voice filled the room.
“I have something to say.”
Emma turned, her brow arching slightly as Aiden walked up to the podium. The room went completely still.
Aiden Brooks never made unnecessary public appearances. If he spoke, the world listened.
Sophia’s breath caught.
Aiden adjusted the microphone, his voice smooth, controlled. “Before we continue, I think it is important that we address something.”
Emma folded her arms, waiting. She had not expected this.
Aiden’s dark gaze scanned the room before settling on Sophia. “There has been a lot of speculation lately about Emma Claire’s past. A certain someone has worked hard to spread false narratives.”
Murmurs rippled through the crowd. Reporters turned toward Sophia, their cameras now focused on her.
Sophia’s face paled.
Aiden continued, his voice like steel. “I do not tolerate liars. And I do not tolerate weak attempts to manipulate the truth.”
Sophia’s fingers dug into the table.
Aiden smirked slightly. “So, let us set the record straight. Since some people seem to enjoy digging up the past, I thought we should expose all of it.”
He nodded toward Bryce, who pressed a button on his tablet.
The large screen behind them flickered to life.
A series of images and documents appeared—emails, financial records, confidential messages.
Emma’s eyes widened slightly as she realized what was happening.
Aiden had exposed Sophia.
The room gasped as the evidence unfolded. Messages from Sophia to various journalists, bribing them to publish false articles. A secret financial trail showing she had been paying off certain industry figures for years. Old emails proving she had sabotaged other models, including Emma.
It was all there.
Sophia shot up from her seat. “This is, this is fake!”
Aiden chuckled, his voice low. “Try again.”
Howard Taylor’s expression darkened as he turned toward Sophia. “Is this true?”
