It has been three weeks since Dr. Ivan's detention and everything in his life was altered in just a blink of an eye. He was not used to the dusty wall and rusty grill surrounding him. It was a new world he never expect he would enter. He almost lost his normal weight from 55 kilo down to 45, he had not eaten well for the past weeks though Laura never forgets to send him healthy foods, he did not eat them, instead, he preferred to give it to the other detainees.
One rainy night,he feels really uncomfortable on his bed, there were rats under it making little noise which sounds irritating. He opened the light to check the underneath portion of his bed. The light flickered on and off, he thought that there was something wrong with the electric line, so he just turned the light off again and returned to his bed. He slowly closed his eyes, suddenly, a cold breeze of the wind blown inside his cell, after a few seconds, the wall clock hung on the wall dropped which made a shocking sound all over his cell. He opened the light again to see what happened, the clock was already broken yet functioning still. The clock's short hand points 3:00 a.m. He picked the wall clock and placed it beside his bed. When he was about to go to sleep, the light flickers once again. This time, he hears a chuckling sound of a little girl, eventually, a sound of footsteps followed. The light was still flickering on and off, after a quick spark, the light has turned off and darkness covered the entire cell. Doctor Ivan was holding his breath, he could still hear the sound of the little girl, but this time, she was no longer laughing, all he could hear was nothing but a scary voice of the little girl crying for help.
"Help me! I just want to play but he killed me!"
The voice of the little girl sounds very familiar, Doctor Morgan was in great fear that very moment, but he tried to keep calm despite the scary scenario he was in. He tried to look around but he can see nothing but the blinding darkness, once again, he heard the voice of the child. Chuckling, laughing and crying out for help.
"Help me! I just want to play but he killed me!"
"Who killed you?" with full of bravery,Doctor Ivan asked the child.
"Mentris... Mentris... he will come to kill you Doctor Ivan!"
The voice of the kid disappeared and the light has finally returned. Doctor Ivan was still stuck by the moment, be can't believe what he has just witnessed. He slapped his face to check if he was just dreaming, but he was not, what he had just heard exists to his real world. And he was so much certain that it was Anika's voice.
He could never be wrong, he would never forget the innocent and playful voice of that little patient in room 101.
A day before Anika died, it was Doctor Ivan who monitored her since her dad was out to buy some important thing and her mom was in a meeting that day so nobody was left to oversee the child. And since it was Doctor Ivan's vacant hour, he decided to stay with Anika for awhile. They played her favourite doll and they laughed the whole time. So how could he ever forget the voice of the kid? He thought that Anika was really begging for help, but how and where he is going to start if the grills surrounding him had stopped his world from moving.
