For four days after that, Valerie didn’t meet Josh at all. When she woke up, he had been gone. Then when it was dawn, Josh came home. But every day, Josh left Valerie a note, sometimes a stem of red roses, a box of chocolate, or a hairpin. Finally, on the fifth day, Valerie waited on the living room couch. She wanted to see Josh when he came home, but after waiting for hours, she got asleep.  Josh sighed when he entered the apartment. He missed Valerie, but she didn’t show any sign that she felt the same. So Josh had no choice other than to continue with the plan. When Josh walked two or three steps from the door, he saw brown curly hair from a fair.
