ARRANGED MARRIAGE

CHAPTER 3

Joana staggered away from the house. Her tears continued to flow profusely because of her aunt's treatment which she could no longer tolerate. Her broken heart with all the harsh treatment and insults that do not wear the heart makes Joana no longer hesitate to leave.

The girl went up to a bus stop. She sat with a weak and powerless body. Joana looked around her, glancing left and right. That morning, people were already passing by to do activities.

Joana's eyes sparkled at the people laughing and joking with their friends. As if there is no burden in their lives. Even seeing the closeness of a child with her mother made Joana wince bitterly, remembering the figure of her mother who had passed away.

Tears can't be stopped anymore. Joana burst into tears and stole the attention of everyone who was there and looked at her with pity.

A few moments later. When Joana started to feel better, her tears had stopped flowing. Joana just remembered where she was going in the morning like this. Even her friends are already at work or gathered at campus.

"Hah ... even after leaving the house, I'm still miserable," complained Joana, bowing her head.

"Joana?" called someone who walked up to her.

A surprised Joana lifted her face and didn't expect to meet her high school friend.

"Siska, why are you here?" asked Joana in surprise. She even stood up with a small smile on her pale face.

"Ah, I have an appointment with our school friends. You don't know?" Siska asked again and realized that Joana, who looked unwell, had even sweat dripping from her beautiful face.

"No, I don't think I received such information," replied Joana with a weak shake of her head.

"Hmm, are you busy?" asked Siska, looking friendly.

"Not."

"Good then, just come with me!" invited Siska by wrapping her arms around Joana.

"But -"

"Don't worry, I will treat you. Come on!" take Siska and pull Joana to get to the bus that is coming. The two of them boarded the bus.

A few moments later, Joana and Siska arrived at a cafe which was quite busy. Joana was quite awkward to be reunited with her friends. But, Joana had no choice and continued to make fake smiles and endure the pain in her body that was getting more and more excruciating.

Siska looks very glamour. Not only with branded clothes, but also the latest mobile phone models Siska has. Joana, who saw that, was quite embarrassed, especially because her other friends were also in the same style.

It was late afternoon, Joana and the other friends said goodbye to each other to go home. Siska also walked hand in hand with Joana, who actually had nowhere to go. Along the way, Joana kept glancing at Siska and stealing lyrics from time to time to make Siska uncomfortable.

"Hey, Joana. If there's something you want to say, just say it. Don't make me feel annoyed," said Siska, a little curtly. Makes Joana gasp in surprise.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," replied Joana.

"Okay, I'm sorry as long as you tell me what you've been thinking since earlier," said Siska, and made Joana feel confused.

"Hmm, Siska, I'm actually not comfortable asking this. But, how can you have all these branded items? You can even treat me to expensive food," Joana finally asked. Considering that Siska is also like herself, she doesn't have a family.

"Are you in need of money?" asked Siska directly and made Joana embarrassed because she was caught. Siska saw Joana carrying a big bag, which made her curious all along.

"Actually, I have a job. Well, it's quite a paycheck. Ah, I heard there's a vacancy for tonight. Would you like to work with me?" asked Siska, and Joana immediately smiled at hearing that.

Without thinking again, Joana nodded her head, accepting Siska's offer. Siska also took Joana to a night club and took Joana to meet her manager. The manager looked at Joana, who had a beautiful face even without make-up. Then she has a pretty good body.

"Okay, you can work from today. Siska gives her clothes that fit her body and teaches her to serve guests, especially VVIP customers," said the manager, and left the changing room.

Joana and Siska smiled happily when they heard that. Siska gave clothes to Joana and taught her how to serve food and drinks. For a few moments Joana looked very nervous and unfamiliar. Especially the old male customers who keep glancing at Joana and teasing her.

Seeing Joana's movements made Siska feel a little uncomfortable. Then they sent the girl to another room. Joana only obeyed because she was veryneed this job. Until when Joana entered the VVIP room, where there was a younger man in it. The number one naratama customer in the club. The man with a body like a model, seemed to be sitting staring at Joana's arrival. Lucas, who was drunk, looked at Joana with a curious look.

"Excuse me," Joana said in a soft voice. Lucas looks at her with passionate eyes.

When Joana put the drink on the table, Lucas immediately grabbed the girl's hand and rubbed the top of her hand. This clearly made Joana shudder with fear. Lucas pulled Joana so that she fell into his arms.

Joana screamed in terror and pushed Lucas hard.

"What are you doing?" Joana snapped angrily at Lucas. Her eyes glared sharply with gasping breath.

"How dare you refuse me?" Lucas asked with an annoyed smile. He got up and walked over to Joana.

Joana, who saw that, was about to run away by turning and walking towards the door. However, Lucas managed to catch Joana's hand and pulled her so hard that she fell down on the sofa that was there.

"How can you resist my charm?" Lucas asked angrily. Lucas had a hard time controlling himself because he was under the influence of alcohol.

Joana struggled away from Lucas, who was about to kiss her roughly. Joana quickly kicked her leg towards the man's body.

Even Joana slapped Lucas hard on the cheek, making the man glare sharply.

"You bastard! You think I'm a cheap woman, huh? I... just came here to serve drinks and food," Joana scolded angrily and got out of there.

Lucas growled in annoyance because this was the first time a woman had rejected him. He looked annoyed at Joana, who had just left after making him feel angry about the rejection.

"Who is that woman? How dare she reject me," Lucas' anger made him angry and he then called his secretary to find out Joana's identity.

The commotion reached the manager's ears, who immediately called Joana to his room. Joana lowered her head in annoyance at being scolded by the manager.

"It's only the first day, but you're already making a fuss by refusing a customer's request? He's a VVIP customer? You, fired! And I won't pay any money. Go!" shouted the manager to Joana.
