Chapter 40

** Emily's P.O.V **

It's been a week me and Sam didnt talk. He talked to me but I ignore him like always. He already gave me his explanation more than ten times but I just want to be alone until my paper done.

I walked to Ms. Pilsburry office to give her my paper. Its already done. 35 pages of 'The Analysis of William Shakespeare's Theory.'

"My paper is done!" I smiled at her.

"Finally! You can make it clear one week before the deadline, Emily. Congratulations! I will send this paper by email and also the hard copy to UC Berkeley." She smiled back.

"Just hope that I'll pass it." I said.

"You will pass it sweety. You can!" Ms. Pilsburry said.

"Thank you so much for all your helping miss. I dont know if I didnt came to your office that day. And it might be annoy you everyday because I can came to your office about three times each day." I chuckle.

"Its okay, Emily. That's my job as guidance concelor. I love helping people and you. Well good luck with that." She smiled.

"Thank you." I walked out from her office and went to the cafetaria and take a seat beside Puck.

"Where have you been?" Puck whispered.

"Ms. Pilsburry's office. My paper is done finally!" I whispered back.

He is the only one who knows the reason why I ignore Sam until a week like this and why I always gone. Not always but mostly. But I believe Puck can hide the secret.

"Hey Em." Mercedes walks in with Finn and Rachel.

"Hey you." I smiled at them.

"Seems like you're so happy today." Rachel said.

"Yeah my responsibility is finally gone. I just wait for the result now." I laughed.

"But you still want to ignore him?" Puck chuckle.

"Shut up, Puck. You know the reason why I ignore him until one week when actually I can ignore him only about 1 day. If he is here, I will forgive him, seriously." I said to Puck.

"I heard what you said to Puck. I understand that, you've been gone because your dream, I was sad about that but I'm glad to know that you already forgive me since one week ago. So you believe me right? How can the hell I cheat? I got my perfect girlfriend and my everything." Sam smiled at me.

I stand up and smiling like an i***t right now. I dont know what should I do. Everyone is looking at us right now including some cheerio that Sam rejected. My eyes is glazing. He really know how to treat me right.

"Come on, hug me or not?" Sam spread his hand. So I run over to him and hug him so tight. The claps and cheering is full around us.

"I'm sorry. I was focusing with my paper but its done now." I said to him.

"Its okay. I understand that, baby." Sam smiled at me.

Sam put his hand around my shoulder and we sit in the glee club table with all the rest of glee club.

"Now is Michael Buble Experience huh?" Rachel chuckle.

"No. I just love that song and I know that every girl will love this song if her man sing it in front of her." Sam laughed.

"Baby It's Cold Outside its more romantic." Blaine said.

"Yeah because you as the Michael Buble and Kurt as Idina Menzel." I said.

"How could you know?" Kurt asked.

"Got that video when you both sang it from Blaine." I said.

"Blaineeee!" Kurt rolled his eyes.

"Sorry, because I think it was cool." Blaine said.

"Actually it is." I said. "Why dont you both have a duet for sectionals?" I asked.

"Me? No." Kurt said.

"But you are a diva, Kurt." Mercedes said.

"No no no. The diva are you, Rachel, Emily and Lopez." Kurt said.

"What about give a chance for Blaine to have a solo?" I asked.

"The warbler will killing me afterwards." Blaine chuckle.

"Haha of course not. Do it Blaine." I said.

"But you have to be the lead with Sam for the other song okay." Blaine said.

"Well I take it as a yes." I laughed.

Glee Club

"Mr. Schue, can I have Blaine for solo?" I asked.

"But the other said that no solo for this sectionals." Mr. Schue said.

"Well we changed our mind because we though that Berry will have the solo so if that we refuse but if Blaine we will say yes." Santana said.

"Will sorry, can I steal Emily for a while? This is urgent." Ms. Pilsburry entered the choir room.

"Sure." Mr. Schue said. I stand up and followed Ms. Pilsburry to her office.

I took a seat in front of the table. What is she mean by urgent this time.

"Emily, I got an email from the UC Berkeley college council. They said that there is also a test to get scholarship. So you have to come there to join the test." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"When?" I asked.

"This Friday." She simply answer.

"Today is Wednesday and I only have one day to study?" I frowned. "But I really want to get into there, miss." I said.

"I know. Dont worry, I'll come there with you. I already talk with principal Figgins about this. Every candidate have to be follow by one teacher so principal Figgins let me to go there with you." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"What shall I learn about?" I asked.

"Let me see. Hmm mostly all about British Literature and Poetry. A little bit about Linguistics and you have to know the history about the British Literature." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"Okay. I will try my best for that and please dont tell anyone about this include my mom or Finn. I'm afraid if I cant pass this." I said.

"I promise you, no one of glee club member know about this. Oh about all you need there is already provide by the university. So dont worry about money or anything. What you have to do only study now. Take this email so you can remember anything you have to learn. Good luck Emily! You will pass it!" Ms. Pilsburry smiled.

"Thank you." I half-smiled. Walked out from her office and back to the choir room. I keep reading the print out of email from the college council.

"It seems like everytime Ms. Pilsburry called her, Emily always bring a paper and keep reading it." Brittany said.

"Oh sorry. I forget that we still have a glee club." I grinned.

"So, on Friday night we will have to discuss about the song lists for Sectionals at Finn's house okay." Mr. Schue said.

Everyone nodded. What? I may not be there in that day.

"Well that was the end of today." Mr. Schue walks off so does the others. I keep reading this email paper while walked out from the choir room.

"What was that?" Sam asked.

"Nothing. Just another paper that I left in Ms. Pilsburry office." I said.

"She said that there was something urgent to talk about." Sam said.

"It was her email was error." I giggled.

Sam just sighs and we then walked to the parking lot to going home and start studying.

"Can you make me some food?" Finn asked when I opened the door.

"Dont you see that I'm just entering my house?" I rolled my eyes. "I have to change my clothes first." I said and walked upstairs.

After changing my clothes, I walked back to the downstairs to cook something for the dinner.

"Em, what did you bring from Ms. Pilsburry office today?" Finn asked.

"A paper that I left in her office. I wont be able on Friday and Saturday anyway. I have to go out with her." I said.

"Where are you guys going to?" Finn asked.

"She want me to guide her to Kentucky meet her sister. Her sister is studying in UCL so I wanna meet her." I lie.

"Then, who will cook for me?" Finn asked.

"You can ask Puck or Sam to stay here anyway." I said as platting some food to the plate.

"I will eat in my room." I said then walked upstairs into my room. I locked my door and the connecting door so nobody include Finn cant disturb me.

I'm studying and eating at the same time. I read the book about Linguistics. This is my weakness, anything about Linguistics is really make me down, those syntax and anything else in it make me wanna die but I have to learn about that more to get that scholarship.

I wake up in the morning with some books beside me. I groan and take a quick bath and get dressed. Tomorrow I'll be gone for the test in California.

"You want to go to school with me or not?" Finn asked.

"I'll drive myself." I answer.

I grab my bag and my book then walked downstairs. Make some toast bread and hot milk.

"You always bring many books to go to school huh?" Finn asked.

"I have to study so I will graduate this year." I said.

"You dont have to study hard. Without study you can also graduate this year. Everyone knows you're smart even without study." Finn said.

"But its unfair for some people who study hard to get their best score." I said as I finished ate my breakfast.

"You really want to drive alone?" Finn asked.

"Yes. I have to go. See you." I said then walked into my car and drive to school.

As I arrived at school. I parked my car near the building so it wont take me long time to walk to get there.

I opened my locker room. Take some books and walked into the classroom and study like always.

After the classes end I decided to go to Ms. Pilsburry's office. She emailed me that she will give a fake test for me to answer. Kind of simulation.

"Well, I hope that some test that I gave to you will be the same with the university give you tomorrow." Ms. Pilsburry said.

I read all the question and answer it. She gave me 50 questions of multiple choice and 10 question of essay. She said that the university will give the same numbers of question but what is question about? I dont know.

"Finish!" I said as I finished my fake-test.

"Wow, 1 hour 3 minutes. Actually you will get 120 minutes to answer all these question." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"But I already checking out all my answer 3 times before I said finish miss." I said.

"You did it faster than anyone does." Ms. Pilsburry said. "Okay, I'll let you know the score. You can fill healthy food to your stomach now before the war tomorrow." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"Yeaah I'm hungry! Haha." I walked off to the cafetaria and took some food.

"Hey Millie!" I greet the woman who always give me food.

"Hey Emily, look so happy today. I heard about your score. Wow amazing. Congratulations with that!" She smiled.

"Haha thank you. Its because the healthy food that you always gave me." I smiled back.

"Next semester my daughter will join the glee club and I hope she will get it." Millie chuckle.

"She will!" I smiled and walks off to the glee club table.

Millie ever told me about her daughter. Her name is Marley. Millie said that Marley is a freshman here but I never know who Marley is. She never show herself. Well if she wanna join why dont she came to us and ask? I dont know.

"Late 30 minutes for lunch." Finn said.

"There is something I have done first." I said and eating my food.

"Seems like you are so so busy these weeks." Santana said.

"Many projects and homework that I have to finish. And I dont believe internet as my references so I spent much time in library." I said.

"That's a life to be the smartest people, Lopez." Kurt said.

"I'm not the smartest one." I raised my eyebrows.

"Then if not you, who?" Kurt asked.

"Mike." I simply answer.

"Why me?" He asked.

"Remember that the day you got A- and your dad came to the school and said that you have to leave the glee club?" I asked.

"Yes. And why?" He asked.

"You got A- but your dad thinks that you a F." I said.

"Then, I asked you. How many times you got A-?" Mike asked me.

"I-I never count it." I said.

"No, you never count it because you never get A- all you got A+" Mike said.

"H-how could you know?" I asked.

"Saw your study report from principal Figgins when me and my dad came to his office." Mike said.

I just give him a shyly smile. I never tell anyone about my score or anything because they might think that I'm a cocky person.

"Even Emily never tell me about her study reports." Finn said.

"Yeah because if she tell you, it will make you look stupid. All you got is B C or D but all she got is A+." Santana said.

"I'm not talking to you." Finn said.

"Oh okay." Santana rolled her eyes.

The bells rings

Suddenly my phones ringing. A text from Ms. Pilsburry.

From: Ms. Pilsburry

Can you come to my office right now?

To: Ms. Pilsburry

Sure.

"I have to go now. Puck, save a seat for me. I may be late to come to the class. So please tell Mr. Schue about that. And the other, see you." I grab my bag and walk off to the Ms. Pilsburry's office.

"Come in, Emily." She said then I took a seat.

"So what?" I asked.

"I just cant believe that I just gave you medium and hard question for your fake test. And the result make me cant believe. You got a perfect score Emily!" Ms. Pilsburry said.

"Wow really?" I asked.

"Looked at this. You answer all those question with the correct answer. I cant wait to see you get there." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"Thank you. But its not yet. Tomorrow is my war." I said.

"Yeah, you better go home right now before we have a flight tomorrow morning." She said.

"But can we go there only for one day? I mean after the test we will go back to Lima?" I asked.

"You sure that you wont get tired?" She asked.

"I'm sure. The result will be announce by email right?" I asked back.

"Yep. If thats what you want sure we can do that. We may arrive back to Lima at 10pm." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"Alright then. See you tomorrow miss." I said then walked to my classroom.
