Chapter 41

It's 8am and we just landed in Oakland International Airport. I left my house at 2.30am. So I just left Finn a note and texted Sam that I wont be able to meet him at school today.

We took the cab to get to UC Berkeley from Oakland International Airport. My test will be begin at 10am.

"Dont be nervous, Emily." Ms. Pilsburry said to calm me down. Because my hands little bit shaking as we arrived at the UC Berkeley.

"For the first time in forever I came here. My future will be start here." I said.

"Yeah. Come on. I dont want you to be late. It's already 9am." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"If we can stay longer, we can go to L.A and meet my mom. Okay No. She will suspicious how the hell I can get there." I said.

"You said that after this you want to go back to Lima." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"Yeah I cant leave Finn alone. He will be starving all day." I chuckle. I looked at my applicant card, Room 3.08.78 seat number 1453. Wow many people got big chance.

"Here is your test room. I'll be waiting on the teachers hall okay." Ms. Pilsburry said.

I hug her before I entered the room. "Good luck, Emily!" Ms. Pilsburry said and I enter the room.

I got my seat. I looked around and there are many people from around the world. The one who sits beside me is Robert and I bet he is from U.K it shows from his accent when he asked my name. I cant see my phone because we are not allowed to bring our phone to this room, so I left it with Ms. Pilsburry.

"Where do you come from?" Robert asked.

"Lima, Ohio. And you?"

"Manchester, England." He answer.

"So when did you arrived here?" I asked.

"2 days ago. I got a morning flight. Fortunately this university provide all the plane tickets and hotels." He smiled.

"Yeah. But I will back to Lima after this test end. I cant leave my twin brother alone at home." I said.

"Where is your parents?" He asked.

"My dad passed away when I was 2 years old and my mom moved to L.A because of her job. My brother cant cook so he will be starving if I leave him alone." I giggled.

"A good twin sister." He laughed.

"Kind of." I said. "Why did you choose this university? I mean your country has Oxford and UCL." I asked.

"I wanna try to live alone without my parents." He said.

"Oh I see." I nodded.

"Did you have any boyfriend?" He asked.

I frowned. "What?" I asked.

"Oh sorry I dont know is it polite to ask about someone status in US culture. Because you're just so beautiful." He smirks.

"Haha its okay. Well I do. He is in the same school with me." I chuckle.

"So I cant date you anyway." He laughed.

I just gave him a smile then two men walks in. I guess they are the lectures. I dont know. Wish me luck for this test.

Meanwhile, in Lima.

"Emily didnt come to school today?" Sam asked to Finn.

"I dont even know what time she left home. She just left me a slice of toast bread and a note." Finn said as he keep eating his food.

"There is something she hide to us." Santana grinned.

"Like?" Brittany asked.

"Did you guys realize that she always came to Ms. Pilsburry's office and she always busy with study and her books. And now she is gone out of nowehere." Santana almost yelled.

"Last thing I know. She only had a paper analysis to get scholarship at UC Berkeley but it already done." Puck said while eating.

"University of California, Berkeley? The best college in US?" Blaine gasped.

"She wasnt tell us." Mercedes said.

"There were me, Sam, Mike, Artie, Joe and Finn when she got a letter from UC Berkeley that day. You just went home after we finished our project Santana." Puck said.

"She not hide it. She just dont want to show it because she though that you might think that she is a cocky person." Finn said. "First, about her score, she only told me until the letter came at the day the boys were in our house." Finn added.

"Yeah. She wasnt like Berry who want to tell everyone that 'I'll get into NYADA' who fcking cares with that?" Santana rolled her eyes.

Rachel just frowned at her words and dont want to respons her.

"I just texted her and she doesnt answer." Puck opened his phone.

"Where did she go?" Quinn asked.

"She only said that she will go to Kentucky to meet Ms. Pilsburry relatives who studied in UCL." Finn said.

"Did you know her locker code?" Santana asked.

"For what?" Sam frowned.

"To know what she hide from us. Who knows that one was cheating is her not you. Yeah even though I know that she wouldnt do that. But remember that Cooper friended her in f*******:?" Santana said.

"My brother isnt like that, Santana." Blaine rolled his eyes.

"Oh come on tell me her locker code. Or I will blackmail principal Figgins." Santana said.

"Okay. But with me. I dont want you to steal something from her locker." Sam sighs.

"You know her code?" Finn gasped.

"I know. She told me when she wasnt be able to walk." Sam said. Santana then grabs Sam's hand and they walked into Emily's locker.

"Actually what Santana said was right. It seems like she hide something from us even from me, her bestfriend." Quinn said.

"You sure that she didnt tell you anything, Puck?" Mike asked Puck.

"Nope. Why?" Puck asked back.

"Because you both almost have the same class everyday and it seems like she closer to you than me now." Mike said.

"She didnt tell me anything." Puck said.

"Emily is really mysterious now." Brittany said.

"Like you." Tina snap her.

"What? I'm not. I'm just trying to be invisible." Brittany said.

"I'm not sure if Sam and Santana will find something." Kurt said.

"But she usually left her stuff on her locker and all those little reminder paper. Not in her locker but also in her room. She easily to forget a little things." Finn said.

Santana and Sam walked back to the cafetaria. "WE GOT THIS!" Santana almost yelled.

"What is that?" Mercedes asked.

"First, a little reminder that she sticks on her locker, it's write 'Written test on Friday! Remember: Linguistics is your weakness.' Then this, a print out paper of an email that send to Ms. Pilsburry email. It wrote that all the scholarship applicant not only have to write paper analysis but also have a written test in UC Berkeley TODAY at 10am. Last this one, a result of simulation test that Ms. Pilsburry gave her and the result is 100% correct." Santana place that two papers in the table.

"100% correct? You mean she answered all the question with the right answer?" Kurt asked.

"Yep. And the definition of the test is medium to hard." Santana said. "See? A stupid whale just had a twin sister who is as smart as Albert Einstein." Santana added.

"I wonder about her I.Q score right now." Artie said.

"Me too." Tina said.

"At least she is not cheating." Sam said.

"If I knew about this, I would wake up earlier and made her a breakfast and said her good luck." Finn said.

"Listen, she hide this because she afraid that if she cant pass it you guys will be dissapoint." Mercedes said.

"You're right." Sam said.

"So no one of us can be mad at her because of this. All we can do is support her." Mercedes said.

"I bet our mom didnt know about this too." Finn said.

"Tell her later Finn." Puck said.

"Alright. Please dont make her down when you guys meet her." Finn said.

"Will she be back home tonight?" Blaine asked.

"I dont know. She said that she will be back home tomorrow. So Puck and Sam, stay for the night okay?" Finn chuckle.

"Yeah because if I wont stay, you will be starving all night long." Puck rolled his eyes.

"Anyway we have to choose our song list at your home tonight." Tina said.

"Yep." Quinn agreed.

Back to Barkeley, CA.

I finished my test in 1 hour 15 minutes. Actually I have two hours to finish it but I dont know why I always finish it earlier than the others. And fortunately, mostly of the question is what Ms. Pilsburry gave me as my simulation test so I can easily answer it.

I walked out from the test room and meet Ms. Pilsburry in the teachers hall. Seems like the college council announce something so I decided to wait outside the hall.

I sit down in the corridor. The university place a long chair for people to sit in the corridor while waiting.

After waiting Ms. Pilsburry about 15 minutes. She finally walked out from that hall.

"You came out earlier." She smiled.

"Yep and I'm hungry now." I laughed.

"Lets go have a lunch before we go back to Lima." Ms. Pilsburry said.

Now, we decided to take a flight from San Francisco International Airport. So we take a cab from Barkeley to San Francisco. Its further than if we fligh in Oakland but we could find some delicious restaurant in San Francisco.

We chooses the Mexican restaurant. I ordered Taco and Nachos. Ms. Pilsburry eats Burritos.

"So how was the test?" Ms. Pilsburry asked.

"I though it would be so hard but glad it wasnt. Mostly of the question is from the simulation test that you gave me so I can do it well. And I feel free right now. Just waiting for the result." I said.

"When you were having test. We all the teachers got announcement that only 100 person will get this scholarship from 2000 candidates. This is a full scholarship, so if you get it you dont have to pay anything only bring yourself and your stuff to the dorm. And the result announcement will be send by email on the middle of this month. On the middle of March." Ms. Pilsburry said.

"Just hope that I will be the 100 luckiest person in the world." I said.

"You will." She smiled at me.

As we finished our lunch we then take the cab to go to San Francisco International Airport and back to Lima.

Lima, Ohio.

We landed in Lima. Me and Ms. Pilsburry take the same cab to bring us home. The cab will bring me home first then to Ms. Pilsburry house. We were about to asked Mr. Schue to pick us up but I'm forget that he has a glee club today in my home today.

It's already 7pm. I'm so tired and sleepy but I'm glad that I did the test and just waiting for the results.

"Thank you for guided me, Ms. Pilsburry. You're the best!" I hug her before I'm out from the cab.

"You're welcome sweety!" Ms. Pilsburry smiled. I'm out from the cab and waves her good bye then walked into my house. The cars is parking on the front yard. I smella party inside.

"Am I late?" I smirks and walked in.

"Yeah you late 2 hours Emily. Where have you been, Emily?" Finn raised his eyebrows.

"I left a note. I went to Kentucky with Ms. Pilsburry." I said.

"I though you went to Barkeley today." Santana said.

"Haha of course not. I met her relatives today." I fake-laughed.

"Sooo how was your test?" Santana asked.

"SANTANA!!" Finn yelled.

"What test?" I frowned. Did they already know that I was lying to them? I turned my face to Mr. Schue but he lift up his shoulder.

"Dont lie to us, Emily. You had a written test in UC Barkeley today, right?" Santana keep asking.

"Santana! Dont forced her to answer your question!" Finn yelled.

"H-how could you know?" I asked and almost crying.

"Come on, take a seat. I know you're tired." Quinn hold my shoulder and let me sit on the couch.

"I blackmailed principal Figgins because you act so strange nowadays." Santana said.

"Yes. I had a written test today in Berkeley. I didnt even know before that I also had a written test not only a paper analysis. I knew about this on Wednesday. I told Ms. Pilsburry to not tell to one of you including Finn and my mom. Because I'm afraid that if I fail, you guys will be dissapoint at me and if I tell, you guys may think that I'm a cocky person so I hide it. I will tell if I can pass it. I dont mean to hide it from you guys." I keep my head down and my tears fall down.

"Ssshh baby, dont cry. We are here for you. If you let us know we might be there to support you." Sam said as he stroke my back and I cried in his shoulder.

"Okay beastie. I'm so sorry, maybe I was so rude but I dont mean to. You have us, but why dont you tell anyone of us? We might be very happy if you tell us. I'm so sorry beastie!" Santana kneel down on her knees in front of me.

"It's okay. I know I've been busy these month. I ignore Sam about a week because I was busy with my paper and he though that I still got mad at him but actually I wasnt. I know this is my bad. I'm sorry." I said.

"But you said that you'll be back home tomorrow." Finn said.

"Actually yes. The university provide everything include hotel for stay but I said to Ms. Pilsburry that we went home after had lunch there so we spent much time in plane." I giggle and wipe my tears.

"9 hours for the plane is it?" Artie asked.

"Yep. I left home at 2.30am because we had flight at 3.30am. We landed in Oakland Airport at 8am. Then I had test at 10 until 12. But I finished it earlier, only 1 hour 15 minutes haha then we decided to took a flight from San Francisco, so we had a lunch at San Francisco then went to the airport and flight to Lima." I said.

"Why you force yourself to got jetlag?" Quinn asked.

"My only reason is Finn. I cant leave that big baby alone. He might be starving all night long if I wasnt going home today." I said.

"Awww you're sweet." Finn hugged me and kissed my cheeck.

"It's twice you kissed my cheeck, Finn." I chuckle.

"Dont tell them about the first one, okay." Finn smirks at me. Then I laughed.

"When that was?" Sam asked.

"Secret in between me and Finn. Haha just kidding. That night when he knew that I'm the one who gave him a new sucks xbox." I laughed.

"Yeah she is my santa." Finn said.

"Okay. So how was your test? Is it hard or something? Tell me please." Artie asked.

"The category of questions is actually medium to hard but thanks to Ms. Pilsburry, she gave me a simulation test first, so I can answer that question easily. It was 50 question of multiple choice and 10 essays. You only had 2 hours to finish it but thank Lord I can finished it only in 1 hour 15 minutes." I said.

"I really need to know your I.Q, Emily." Artie said.

"Later you'll know bro." I said. "So, how about the setlist?" I asked.

"First, you and Sam will lead the song Somebody To Love by Queen. The second song is Empire State of Mind, the last is Glad You Came lead by Blaine." Mr. Schue said.

"Why somebody to love?" I frowned.

"Because I was so sick listen you sang that song everyday before you met trouty mouth." Finn said.

"FINN HUDSON YOU BETTER SHUT UP BEFORE ANOTHER BOTTLE LAND ON YOUR RIGHT HEAD!!!" I yelled.

"But it was true, baby." Finn smirks.

I walked to the kitchen, take a bread with mustard then throw it into his face.

"SERIOUSLY, EMILY?!" Finn yelled.

Everyone just laughed including Mr. Schue.

"Em, did you see my new lego?" Finn asked.

"I dont even know you have lego. I dont know." I yawned.

"Uh okay." Finn go back to his room. And I go back to fall asleep. It's time for Sleeping Saturday since I got a jetlag yesterday.

"Can you accompany me to the mall today?" Finn back again into my room.

"Huh? I'm so sleepy why dont you ask Rachel?" I asked and yawned again.

"Well okay." Finn walks off. Just let me sleep please. "I'm forget that Rachel will stay in Shelby's house until Monday." Finn said again.

"And then?" I asked.

"She cant accompany me." Finn said.

"Finn, just let me sleep for another one hour please." I yawned and fall asleep. I dont care if he call me again.

* 15 minutes later *

"EMILY!!!" Finn yelled. I suddenly wake up as I heard a yelled from him.

"What?" I asked.

"My Halo game is already finished!" Finn said.

"Fck you!" I go back to sleep.

"Oh come on please accompany me to the mall today." Finn said.

"Tomorrow okay." I simply said.

"Emily pleasee!" He begged.

"CAN YOU JUST LET ME SLEEP FOR ANOTHER ONE HOUR AND STOP CALLING MY NAME? YOU CAN ASK PUCK OR ANY BOYS TO ACCOMPANY YOU!" I yelled to him.

"But I want to be with you." Finn said. I ignore him and grab my phone.

Glee Club Group Chats

Emily : can someone pls accompany my sucks twin brother to mall pls? He cant stop disturb me. All i wanna do is sleeping today. Thank you. I'll silent my phone and go back to sleep. Bye.

I placed my phone on my side table and fall asleep and ignore all what Finn said.

* 1 hour later *

I woke up by hearing some voice from TV. I opened my eyes and saw Finn and Sammie are sitting on the floor watching football match.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Waiting for you woke up. So I just sit here watching football match with Sammie." Finn said.

"Why are you waiting? You must be hungry right?" I frowned.

"No. Well actually yes but I want to you go to the mall with me today." Finn said.

"What do you need to buy anyway?" I asked Finn.

"A new video games, new lego also a new shoes." Finn said.

"Anything else?" I asked.

"No maybe just some food." Finn said.

"Okay." I simply said and layin my body back to the bed.

"Emily, pleaseee." Finn begged.

"Ask Puck or Artie or someone else. I'm so tired." I rolled my eyes.

"Puck is busy with Beth. Artie I dont know. There is only you." Finn said.

"Well okay, but buy me a waffle and ice cream." I said.

"Okay then. I better get ready now!" Finn walks into his room.

"Who says we will go right now?" I asked.

"Dont you just say that we can go right now?" Finn frowned.

"Errrrr okay okay." I rolled my eyes.

"You confusing me." Finn said.

"You want me to go out with you or not? If you want dont talk too much!" I snap him and he doesnt answer now.

I take a quick bath to make my face look fresh then get dressed. I wear a denim short pants, a big black tshirt, my black converse and a brown beanie hat.

"Can we go now?" Finn asked from the connecting door.

"Ugh okay. But you drive." I grab my car key and throw it at him.

Actually I wanna spend my Saturday at home and sleeping all day because I'm still got jetlag.

"Finn, if I leave to CA, is it okay if you alone?" I asked.

"Dont worry, I'll ask Puck to live with me. Anyway, if you get there promise me to go home every once in a week. You dont need to take a plane, just take the Lima Express." Finn said while driving.

"You sure you want to live with that guy?" I frowned.

"Yes. Of course. He is my bestfriend." Finn said.

After 30 minutes driving. We finally arrived at the mall. First store that we visited is Vans store. Finn really need a new shoes. Then kids stations. I dont even get it why two high school student went here and bough a bucket of legos.

School Day

I walked down in the hallways with Santana. I dont know what happened but mostly cheerios who saw us walked together glared at me. Am I do something wrong today? At least not now.

"Did you see that your cheerio friends glared at me?" I whisper to Santana.

"If they really that, I will kick them out from cheerio. I'm the captain you know." Santana said.

"I know but I'm not lying, Santana." I said as we entered the class.

"Okay. I will cut them if they do something to you. Dont worry." Santana said.

"With screaming your lines?" I chuckle.

"Oh beastie you should know that first time I said that line was to Berry." Santana rolled her eyes.

"Really? How come?" I asked.

"A long long story." Santana said.

"How long that story than Mississipi?" I asked.

"Emily please dont blind me with your stupod question." Santana rolled her eyes.

"But I'm curious." I said.

Suddenly my phone vibrate. Got an email from Ms. Pilsburry. It's a strange that she send me an email when she can text me.

Emily can you just meet me in the school courtyard? I have something to talk.

Why not in her office? Is Ms. Pilsburry want to feel the fresh air in the morning so she want to meet me in the school couryard? I dont know.

"Ms. Pilsburry asked me to come to school courtyard." I said to Santana.

"Then, just go. Seems like we have free class today." Santana said. I nodded and walked off.

I walked to the school courtyard and here is so crowded. Yeah it's a favorite place for mostly student in William McKinley to hang out. I looked around to find where Ms. Pilsburry is but I cant find her.

I grab my phones from my pocket to text her but suddenly something crushed me. Slushied right on my face.

"That was for the highest score."

"And this one, just because you are smart, popular and beautiful doesnt mean that we cant do something to you."

Another slushied right on my clothes. Okay, what next?

"This is because you dated Sam Evans!" Another cheerio slushied me again. It's been three.

"Last, because Coach Sue said that she proud of you, and told us about you and you." A blueberry slushied landed right on my hair.

"ONLY THIS? ONLY FOUR SLUSHIED? WHAT NEXT YOU GUYS WILL DO TO ME?" I screamed out loud to those cheerios.

"WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING? STOP IT!" A voice. I turned my face and I see coach Sue came from my left side. "I might hate the glee club but I never do something like this to the one of their member. Now go back to the cheerios practice. Right. Now!" Coach Sue yelled to those cheerios.

"C-coach thank you." I said.

"What thank you? They just dissapear from the cheerios practice. I didnt save you. I just want them back for practice. Thats all." Coach Sue said then walked away.

"Emily you okay?" The rest of glee club came to me.

"They're sucks! I dont even get whats my problem to them. But all I can heard is one of them slushied me because I dated Sam. Sucks!" I said.

"Come on, you can tell us about this later. Now, we have to clean up your clothes and your face first." Quinn grabs my hand and bring me to the girls locker room.

I take a quick bath in the girls locker room. Changing my clothes with the another Quinn gaves me. Fortunately, I only wear black jeans and a v-neck tshirt today so it's easy to clean up.

After took a quick bath, I dried my hair with Quinn's hairdyer. She is like my personal stylish right now. But without her, I wouldnt get like this one.

We then walked to the choir room. Seems like all the glee club members and Mr. Schue are waiting there for me to know what happened. I know I was stupid. I just believed what they said.

"Emily, what happened?" Finn asked as me and Quinn entered the choir room.

"I got a trapped like what they did to Sam. They blackmailed me pretend like the email was from Ms. Pilsburry. Then they slushied me four times until coach Sue came and yelled at them." I said.

"What those cheerio said to you?" Mercedes asked.

"First, they said about my highest score. Second they said like this 'And this one, just because you are smart, popular and beautiful doesnt mean that we cant do something to you.' Third they bring Sam into this. They slushied me because I dated Sam and last they said that about coach Sue who told them about me while cheerio practice." I said.

"But why they bring Sam into this?" Blaine asked.

"Because, that one who slushied me and said 'this one because you dated Sam Evans' it was the one who I saw with Sam in this room that day. The one who is trying to kiss my boyfriend. I remember her face by the way." I rolled my eyes.

"And about coach Sue?" Mercedes asked.

"I dont know about that but on valentine day, I talked to her a bit while I was waiting for Sam but that time she just only said congrats that's it. And I gave her my chocolate like the others. Anyway how could you guys know I was there?" I frowned.

"Santana called us." Finn said.

I turned my face into Santana and she rolled her eyes.

"When we walked in the hallways I noticed those cheerio glarred at her then when she told me that Ms. Pilsburry wanted to meet her in courtyard, I confused. So I called them so what I though was right." Santana said.

"Yeah I know I was stupid." I said.

"I though that I will see my twin cry." Finn said.

"Why should I cry? I dont even get what is my fault. First get a highest score? Who the hell tell that things to the whole school? Me? Of course not, but the teachers also principal Figgins. Second, being popular? I dont want to be a popular actually, but the things came by itself. Third, date Sam? If Sam want to date that girl, sure just go ahead, but see? He chooses me. Fourth, about coach Sue? Is it wrong if a teacher proud about her students? I dont get it seriously." I sigh.

"But I dont want to date that cheerio. All I want is you." Sam said. I only rolled my eyes and sigh.

"She is right. Why should we mad or cry when we are not wrong?" Quinn said.

"Just go ahead hate on me, run your mouth." Finn singing.

"So everyone can hear." Tina follows.

"Hit me with the worst you got knocked me down, baby I dont care." Me and Santana are singing.

"Keep it up, soon enough, you'll figure out." Mercedes and Rachel singing.

"I think we should perform that song again in front of those cheerios." Santana smirks.

"Great idea!" I smirk back.

"But we are also in a cheerio." Brittany said.

"But britt, we are not like them. Actually most of them are sophomore and I'm the cheerleading captain, I'll get this as a lesson to them!" Santana yelled.

"Okay, what about right now?" Finn asked.

"Sure. Call the band and we will sing it on the bleachers right in front of them." Santana grinned.

We then walked to the field meet those cheerios who are practicing there.
