She sat at McDonald’s waiting for Jeremy to get off work for the last hour. Aimee knew when he was due to clock out, but arrived early just in case he got off early. He was two years older than her, a senior, and she was helping him with his American History for the past month in order to make sure he graduated. They studied at his house while his parents were out because he didn’t want them to know that he was struggling in school and could quite possibly fail his senior year. Aimee loved those quiet afternoons. He would fix her hot chocolate and play her favorite bands.
