The hike continued. Somewhere along the way, the conversation stopped feeling forced. Not completely effortless. But easier. The kind of conversation that wandered wherever it pleased. One topic becoming another. Then another. Then another. Before either of them realized nearly an hour and a half had passed. Rowan glanced ahead. Then smiled slightly. "We're close."
