Scrabble Tiles MurderDESPITE THE BRUTAL HEATWAVE engulfing the District of Columbia, Washington Post employees shiver under sweaters and jackets as humming overhead vents release frigid air across the room. Unfazed by the cold, the chilly vents are mere pink noise as I sit at my desk drawing an inky loop around a newspaper ad and gazing at an unrelenting obsession—a timeworn folder thick with investigative research and six photos.
