Just when I thought things couldn't get more worse, life just had to pull another fast one on me. Shit. The air was tense, with neither me nor Fredrick saying anything. The entire atmosphere was shrouded with something thick and acrid and it didn't look like it would be dissolving anytime soon. I stared at the phone in Fredrick's grip. For a moment, I was tempted to think that I was only imagining the whole thing. Maybe somewhere in between Cynthia's subtle threat, I had drifted to sleep and had started dreaming of worse, hallucinating. I blinked back a couple of times, before giving myself a punch in the air. The painful sensation that spread around that spot was all I needed to know that I wasn't dreaming. This was real. The phone call and the pictures were real. Oh good Lor
