I felt my heart drop into my stomach as I heard the sound of the cars coming closer to us, disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of our ancestral home. From the window in my room, I could see clearly how our driveway that was almost always empty was now filled with different cars. Felix had arrived.
The minute I saw him get out of his car, that surrounded by bodyguards of different sizes, my breath caught in my throat. Felix looked like he always did- he was cold and smug and he the powerful man everyone in my family loved and admired so much.
