Daniel's point of view
I woke up and realised I was in a hospital. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around in the dark room. This room looked different, because the smell of medicine and sickness hit my nostrils like something I have never perceived before. I frowned a bit and took a deep breath. When I finally opened my eyes fully, I realised I was in a hospital.
I felt the dryness in my throat as I tried to speak. I looked around and saw someone with her head down on my bed. Whoever it was seemed to be sleeping. I raised my hand and stroked her head, making her stir in her sleep. She moved her face towards me and I smiled a little.
I tried speaking again but this time ended up coughing terribly, alerting Genevieve and waking her up in the process.
