2. The Kingdom of the Spirits How good it felt to be out of that place. A light breeze cooled the beads of sweat that had formed on my face. We emerged into what seemed like a relatively bright place in a rather dry, rocky, wilderness area not unlike some of the harsh alien-like landscapes that can be seen on postcards back in my home world. I was taken by surprise at the rather beautiful panoramic view that swept out around us as far as the eye could see. We seemed to have emerged quite high up on the side of a rocky slope.
