"look on the bright sides, don't let this spoil our last evening together,we will have fun, and you could check out those northern meals you've always talked about Trice , and you could dance with as many as you want Tina, while I was go ahead and check out the interior of the palace then we come right back to this spot and share our experience,it would be great."Thrianna said with a bright smile pushing her uneasiness away for the time being.
"Excuse me."a male voice said disrupting their little circle and they looked in his direction.
"Good evening to you lovely ladies."he said with a prim bow.
"Good evening good sir."they said in unison with a courtesy.
"I am General Philip Caster,I hope you don't mind me stealing your ..."
"Sister."Thrianna filled in.
"Thank you," he said to her as he continued "sister here for a dance." He said taking out his hand for Tina.
"Oh! no I rea-"she made to refuse but was cut off by Thrianna.
"Of course you can."
"Thank you."he said with a dashing smile as Tina took his hand and sent Thrianna a glare before they went towards the dance floor.
"I think I would go check on those northern dishes you spoke of."Trice said after a while and Thrianna watched her move in another direction.
"While I would go take a look at the castle."she said as turned to leave to only bump into someone.
"I'm so sorry." She said trying to regain her composure "and so clumsy."she muttered under her breath before she finally looked up at the person who offered here a bright smile.
"It's fine."he responded.
He was dressed in rich white fabric with golden embroideries, his blonde hair combed back neatly and he had a pair of striking blue eyes with a smile that made her wonder if his cheeks didn't hurt from all that smiling.
"What is a fine lady like yourself doing all alone."he asked.
"I am not alone,I am here with my family."she said matter of fact, not wanting to be called a loner.
" I am sorry for my wrong assumptions."he said with sorry eyes and she nodded and just as she made to take another step he bowed with his right hand forward and his left behind his back
"May I have this dance?"
She looked down at his hand for a moment, it was always so hard to refuse when they asked so politely,so she placed her hand in he's and he lead her to the dance floor.
He took her other hand and placed it on his shoulder while his other rested on her back.
" I don't think I have seen you around here before,"he said as they delved deeper into the ballroom."if I have, I would definitely remember such a beautiful face."he said as her cheeks turned pink from his complement.
"Oh!,no I come from the east, Gatrish precisely."she said.
"And you travelled all that way to attend a ball?!" He asked with evident surprise in his voice, how did she even get an invitation to begin with.
"No,well yes, my father is here on important work."she answered.
" Oh."he hummed nodding his head.
"You haven't introduced yourself."Thrianna demanded.
"Neither have you, but by the way I am Raphael Braville, lord of Coundour."he said as her eyes widened.
"Gracious!,I didn't know that."she said in shock as she lowered her gaze to at least show him a bit of respect.
"Of course, you are not from around here."he said with a smile"and you are?"
"Cathrianna."she said plainly and she noted the question in his eyes but said nothing further, this was all he would get,she didn't want them forming a possible alliance with her as the next bride and thankfully he didn't enquire any further.
"Okay lady Cathrianna, mind if we join the circle?"he asked and she noticed that they were in the heart of the ballroom and there was a huge circle where if you joined with your partner you would dance round changing partners and would only be out of the circle when you were finally back in your partner's arms,it was a fun dance so sure ,she didn't mind and thus they joined the circle through a space created by a couples who had just left the circle and when he let go ,she twirled landing in another person's arms and another and another,it went on and on , she paid lesser attention on those who weren't her partner and more on the lord who seemed to be finding his way back to her as she to him,one last person and she would be out of his circle ,she thought to herself and just as she twirled one last time hoping to be caught by the lord so that they would finally leave the circle someone else held her leading her out of the circle, her eyes widened as she looked back at the lord who ended up with someone else before she met the gaze of her new partner.
"Why would you do that?"she asked staring up at beautiful silver-gray eyes that somehow reminded her of stormy clouds and when he didn't answer her question and instead kept staring as they danced she spoke again.
"Why would you do that,I had a partner and I would like to believe you did as well, you just can't whisk me out of a circle you didn't lead me into."
But then when she thought he wasn't going to react a smile broke on his beautiful lips, something that got her feeling very uncomfortable.
He stepped out of his carriage as he made his way into the castle , preparations had already commenced as the servants were already cleaning up the environment.
"Good evening, milord."the butler said appearing by the door.
"Hmm."he hummed as the butler helped his out of his coat.
"It's a pleasure to finally have you here again milord."the butler said hanging it to a stand and coming back to escort him in.
"The pleasure is all mine, Lucas."
