Monster

1077 Words
Thrianna dashed into the room, moving straight to the dressing table ,she grabbed a really sharp and long hairpin to defend herself, just in case he came in at any moment, they killed a person! They killed a living, breathing person! How could they? It is well understood when it happens in wars, but this? This was completely out of the question. She walked quickly to the extreme end of the room and hid in the corner,in the shadows. For the love of God! She'd been sleeping. What if he had a family? What if he had a wife and children? Tears fell to her cheeks and she wiped them off immediately. She'd even let him kiss her,to think she was starting to accept him. Was he really a beast?. Well, that was the only explanation. His eyes, his strength, those only belonged to beasts,to monsters. She was weeks away into marriage with a beast! She was starting to think that running away would have been her only option. What if he decides to kill her too? Fresh tears fell down her cheeks and she wiped them off again. She couldn't afford to be distracted by tears, she was strong and brave, she would save herself from the hideous beast. She tried calming her trembling heart. "Please,"she whispered as she laid her free hand on her chest. Ivor had called on Roman the minute he left the dining hall. He would need help with taking out the body, not that he couldn't ask his men to do just that ,but he didn't want to take chances. Thrianna was a hand full, and she was becoming too nosy. He had waited till it was dark enough to begin the work and, and after the digging, he'd perceived her unmistakable scent, but then he brushed it off with the thought that, maybe it was a stray scent that lingered too long in the air ,but unfortunately it wasn't,she just had to find out and in quite an unpleasant way at that, what exactly was she doing out of the room? He held the door knob and experienced an unnecessary and unfamiliar feeling of hesitation, then he shook his head and finally turned the knob and stepped in. She wasn't in bed but she was definitely in the room. He turned to the shadows and spotted her. He was so sure she felt cold. The stubborn little thing wouldn't even use a blanket and the fire in the fireplace was nearly out. He walked to the fireplace and stocked in more wood, then he turned in her direction, she still sat there looking at him like he was a ghost, and just as he was close enough to help her stand ,she stood up and slashed the air with something that looked like a clip and he stepped back immediately. "Don't you dare touch me,"she said as she stepped back. "You killed him, didn't you? How could you have done something so cruel? What if he had a wife? Or a child, didn't you stop to think of how they would feel?"she asked as she sniffed as tears dropped from her eyes. "Drop the pin."he said calmly as he stared at her hands that were trembling out of obvious fear. "You can't tell me what to do!"she shot, holding the clip tightly. How could he? Why did it even hurt? "It's all my fault,"she said as more tears dropped from her eyes. She momentarily dropped her head. If she hadn't planned to leave, then he would still be alive,he would still be breathing, for the love of gads! There were many other things he could have. There,he could have punished him, even sent him away, but he-he killed him. "Calm down and-"he said as he made to go further, but she looked back up at him, pointing her clip at him, and he stepped back again and, as if something ticked in her head, she looked him straight in the eyes. "What are you?"she asked, clearly he wasn't expecting the question as his eyes widened a little, then he regained his composure. The look in his eyes when she asked questions he wasn't ready to answer was something she was yet to get used to. She stepped back again and he looked down at the hem of her cloak. He didn't ever want her moving away from him-never. He reached for her wrist just before she could blink and twirled her around so that her back crashed into his chest. He quickly pried the clip out of her hand and clamped their hands together and hugged her. "Let me go!"she struggled for a while and when it was obvious that she couldn't get away from him she stood still, panting, his palms we're so warm, he'd been out in the cold, why was it so warm?, and she felt rather calm as they stood there,he was the reason she was so angry and now he was comforting her?,she hated her self, not because she still let him hold her,but because she didn't feel repulsed by it or him,he placed his lip on that tender spot on her neck and she quacked in his hold. "I'm sorry,"he said, and she closed her eyes,it wasn't that easy. "How could you?"she asked. She couldn't even believe he had just asked for forgiveness. That was a first and, for some odd reason ,she couldn't bring herself to remain angry. It was a person's life they were talking about, but she couldn't stay angry. He rested his head on her shoulder for a while and, as if making a decision, she heard him sigh. "I'll tell you everything."he said, letting go of her,"the rest is up to you."he said, walking to the other side of the room as he leaned on the wall. The rest might be up to her, but there was no way he would let her leave. Besides, she was going to find out one time or the order. It was better if she found out from him, than on her own or from someone else. She'd just have to learn to accept him, she knew she shouldn't,but she groaned inwardly as he left her. She picked her clip off the floor and returned it to the table, she sat on the chair by the dressing table and held her hands together as she looked at him. Now she wished they were in bed. If they were, she would be warm and tucked in. She bit her cold lip as she flexed her fingers. "Go on."
