The Curse 1

"Hilda, what do you want?" Lord Duncan Valot asked, not taking his eyes off her for a moment. "Your majesty,"she said with a bow,"milady, milord",she greeted still bowing and only rose when she heard the queen speak. "Rise, my dear."Estella said, clearly disturbed by her modesty. "Thank you, Milady,"she said as she rose. "It is quite unreasonable of you to presume that I would come here ,after all this time, to ask you for something I would want , when you clearly aren't willing to offer as much as your attention."she said without concern for who else was around. "You would not talk to your king in such a disdainful manner!"the head minister said by the table, clearly confused about why a peasant would speak so bluntly to his majesty. "Of course,I wouldn't dare to do such a thing. In fact,I have come to repay his majesty for all he has done for me."she said with a smile that scared the creeps out of them. "I have done nothing, and it would be appropriate for you to leave before I have the guards make you leave."Duncan said, and he immediately wondered how she had gotten in. Those guards positioned by the gates and doors were sure enough to get punished. "That is exactly my point, milord, you did nothing to help,I was casted out,I was treated wrongly but you did nothing,it was something I could and had to bear when it happened to me,but to my child?"she said as a tear dropped from her eyes. "What is going on?"Estella asked, looking from the peasant to her husband. Hilda turned to her with a very satisfying smile but said nothing more to her. "The wee little thing couldn't live past a month."she said as more tears dropped from her eyes while she bore a bright smile on her face, she looked moonstruck, like a crazy person, and it was very disturbing to watch someone smile in such an absurd way. "So you have come to blame me for her death?"Duncan asked with a raised brow. "I have come to do more than that. Today you shall know the wrath of a white witch,"she said as she stretched her hands and closed her eyes and when she opened it, it glowed in silver, and the rest of her body emitted silver waves. "What are you doing?!,guards cease her!"he shot as he stood from his seat and just as the guards came closer to her they froze in place. "I curse you-" "No!"Estella shot as she got closer to her husband. "Do not fret milady, you will get your fair share,-and your unborn son,he shall be a beast amongst men, with the temper of one, and because you left me because of my kind. Bound he is bound to a witch-"she said, still staring at Estella's. "You shall never see your son."Hilda spoke, only to hear her scream in horror. "And for the love we once shared,I shall spare you for seven more years, but thereafter you shall die a slow painful death!"Hilda said as her voice dispersed through the room, she whispered some words and with that she fell to the floor. She had used up her strength in that one curse, but she had passed on her lesson. You may do whatever you want to a witch of her kind, but never should it affect their family or children in anyway. "What in heaven's name are you looking at!,cease her."and with that her hands were bound with chains. "None of this leaves this room."Duncan said as he glared at each and every member of the court to make sure they got the message and she was immediately taken out of the court room, as Duncan followed just immediately, leaving his wife utterly broken and wet with fear and the rest of the members of the court in complete daze. 'Run or you'll be next.'she spoke in his head as she saw Jacob readying the horse for his majesty. She didn't beg for help, she didn't need help. Thrianna sat by the edge of the bed with her hands together listening to him speak,a beast. She was right then,he was a beast,he was under a curse. She could only imagine how much of a burden that could be. She closed her eyes. Who would have thought that this was the completion of the book she had been looking for? This...this explained things better, his strength and his eyes, his wounds, everything, why he had killed the guard. Now she was sure it was all her fault, because if she hadn't angered him, then he wouldn't have done that. "She was hung in the woods and every living plant life died along with her,"he concluded, but that wasn't all there was to the curse,he would keep the rest to himself. Well, that explains the woods, she thought now, looking down at her hands, to think she was getting married to a beast, and another thing that had caught her attention was something about the curse that said he was bound to a witch. Didn't that mean he was to fall for a witch and probably marry her. Then why was she here? She wasn't a witch, was she? Her foresight had nothing to do with being a witch, did it? She couldn't be a witch, besides. Besides, she came from a perfectly human family. "Well, the curse was definitely wrong about one thing,"he said as he stood erect and walked over to her, and as he got to her,he went on his hinges, taking her hand in his and kissed it while keeping his eyes closed. She just kept staring at him,he always offered warmth even without the intention to. Maybe now she knew why it was best to never annoy him. No wonder he got so angry when she wanted to leave. There was still a lot she didn't know about him and now she felt she might have misjudged his personality. He wasn't like this because he wanted to,but because it was forced on him by the circumstances surrounding him,and he was only trying to survive. She looked at his face,he looked so much more handsome when he was relaxed and to think he had just told her something of this magnitude. Well, she was the one that asked for it,but wasn't he supposed to think of how she would react. She didn't even know how to react, but one thing was for sure, she definitely wasn't scared of him. "I alone would get to choose who I would be bound to,"he said, as he opened his eyes to stare straight at her.
