"Your majesty."they bowed with a smile on their faces before they say.
"How was your journey father?"Thrianna asked.
"We hope it went well."Tina chipped in as she served herself, but then they didn't hear him speak.
"What happened." Thrianna asked placing her cutleries back on the table.
"One of you are getting married."he announced after a while of hesitation.
Beatrice coughed almost choking from her food while Tina handed her a glass of water and patted her back, after over a minute of silence Thrianna spoke up.
"Which of us?"
"I don't know."he said as his face fell in despair.
They had all dreaded this day, marriage was something that every normal girl looked forward to but it didn't seem like that in this scenario, both daughters of nobles, generals, lords and those of high standing in the kingdom were usually given away in marriage to gain alliance , it was usually a marriage that didn't involve the feelings of the participants and Fredrick had never wanted that type of union for his daughters, but right now this situation needed a king not a father.
Over the time the people had began to ask when the crown princess would be getting married and when they would see their next king , but he had always told them that she alone could find someone that would rule both the kingdom and her heart rightly but right now he was trying to save his kingdom and he would do what ever it takes ,even if it breaks his heart.
"To who?"Thrianna enquired futher.
"The lord of Nightfalls."he spoke taking a bite from his fork.
"I am not getting married to him."Trice finally spoke for the first time since they sat for their meal.
"It is not your choice to make."Frederick retorted sharply looking in her direction.
"But you said-,"he cut in before she could finish her statement.
"I said that i would give you enough time to choose a worthy groom, I kept my end of the bargain, I gave you five whole years ,Beatrice still you couldn't find yourself a capable man."
"Because they are all after your throne and wealth, they don't respect me, they just see me as a means to acquire more wealth,I would not be looked down on and I definitely would not marry the lord of Nightfalls."and just as she uttered those words it stroke her.
Nightfalls, wasn't that the largest kingdom in the whole land?, and it's Lord, she had heard alot about him, they say he's a beast, that he could take out their entire army with just a flick of his finger, she didn't know how exaggerated the story was but it was well enough to get her scared to death,no kingdom in their right state of mind would ever think of getting into any form of arguments with them and now her father was giving her out in marriage to such a...such a vile creature, realization dawned on they three, they were all thinking the same thing,'what was father thinking?!'.
"We would be leaving for Nightfalls by a day after tomorrow, make sure to pack the things you would need."he said ignoring Trice.
"Father you can't do this."she said with teary eyes, then he looked at her.
"You are twenty two, you should know what is right, this is the only way I can save my kingdom."he said looking down at his food, he wasn't sure he still had an appetite .
"Mother?" Trice looked at her mother who in turn looked at her with pity.
Laurel looked at her daughters not knowing what to say, Beatrice being twenty two had wavy blonde hair, brown eyes with fleckes of black, she was of average height with beautiful radiant skin, she made one think of sun flowers, she was very composed and always walked with elegance, and she was the most quite of the three. Next was Christina, she was twenty, with curly blonde hair afew shades darker than Trice's,and eyes as blue as the hottest parts of fire, she was the taller of the two, with a beautiful slender figure, she was the most disciplined of the three and lastly was Thrianna who was completely different with jade black hair like her father's with a thin streak of silver in front and slanted emerald green eyes, she was the smaller of the three with a lean rounded figure, she was eighteen years of age and quiet a hand full of trouble and very outspoken, sometimes laurel wondered how she was blessed with such beautiful daughters but right now she couldn't do anything to help them out.
When laurel said nothingTrice stood angrily and left the hall ,while Tina and Thrianna stood after her offering a bow to their father and mother before they left the hall.
Trice braged into her room, moving towards the bed ,she lay down dipping her face in a pillow as she cried after a while she felt the deep on the sides of the bed.
"Go away." she sniffed. But when she didn't feel them move she looked up at them.
"We can't."Tina said.
"It's our room too." Thrianna said smoothing her hair.
They had always shared a room together for as long as she could remember ,at first it was Tina's fear of the dark but as time went on they realized that they enjoyed each other's company alot.
"Is there something we should know?"Thrianna asked still patting her hair as Trice sniffed.she didn't know why?, but there was just something about Trice's reaction to the new that she couldn't quite place her finger on, Trice was usually so self-contained but she just lost it, it wasn't that her reaction wasn't justified because it was only logical that the lord of Nightfalls would choose her as the crown princess as he stood to gain more with her as his bride and nothing and no one would ever pass off such an opportunity.
But then again ,Trice said no. So she wouldn't press on the matter again, after a while of sobbing she finally fell asleep while they followed suit .
