Message to heaven

1013 Words
It was time for lunch, Thrianna had to give up her search for the book as she didn't want to test her luck by climbing up the ladder again and she couldn't tell anyone to help her because she would be being a bother and there was this feeling of wanting to keep the information to herself so much instead she retired to her room. "I'ld like to have lunch here,so please send it up."she said to Rose as she flipped through the pages of another book,it didn't seem to hold her interest as much as the journal did ,she needed to find the rest of that book. "Yes milady."Rose said with a bow as she turned and walked out the door of the room, she sighed as she closed the book and dropped it on the bed while she stood, she walked to the window and looked out, the only form of vegetation and plant life was the garden which had more of space than plants apart from that every other thing was dead,it didn't seem natural, she looked further into the garden to find a little figure, it looked to be a little girl, she was dressed quite elegantly to be a child of a staff, maybe she was the daughter of some noble or general, but what was she doing without a governess or a nanny and what was looking at?, Thrianna let the window , gathering her skirt in her hand she started towards the door, she left the room going down the stairs and through the hallways, then out of the manor. When she got to the garden she searched for the girl, and she found her under the same tree, she was on her knees looking at something, her side view seemed sad,she approached her quietly. "Hi."she said when she got in view but she kept looking at her, then her gaze dropped back to something on the floor. "May I see that?"Thrianna asked and she looked back at her and nodded, she looked about six years of age,she had dark auburn,a rich, warm brown with autumnal undertones but she didn't quite catch her eye colour so she stepped closer and squatted raising her skirts up a bit she squatted beside her and she was looking at a dead bird,it was a little one of yellow and black colour. "It was going to deliver my message to father, but now it wouldn't be able to."she said as she sniffed. "No ,don't cry, where is your father?,we can find a way to give him your message."Thrianna said as she tried to pacify the little girl. She looked up at Thrianna and Thrianna was greeted with piercing blue eyes, she was beautiful with very delicate features, her eyes were already clouded with tears. "Uncle says he was killed, mama says he's in heaven."she said ,well her uncle had quite a blunt tongue to have put it in that manner for the little girl. "I was going to send him a message in heaven, mama says it's higher than we can reach ,so I asked the bird to,but it just fell from the tree as we were speaking."she said as fresh tears were threatening to fall. "No,no,no, it's not dead, it's asleep."Thrianna said, she didn't like to see children cry. "It has cold feet,it happened yesterday too, they all have cold feet when they die."she said now in obvious tears. "Can I touch it?"Thrianna asked cautiously. "Let's make sure it's not dead."she said and the little girl picked it up very carefully and placed it in Thrianna's palm,it was stiff and pale and most definitely dead, she thought rubbing it's feet, with cold feet too. "It's-"Thrianna made to say as she looked in the little girl's direction but was cut off immediately. "Alive, it's alive."she said in excitement and Thrianna felt it move on her hand and she looked back at her hand,it was on it's feet , tilting it's head from side to side just staring at her and If was possible she would have fainted out of disbelief. "It's alive!!!"the little girl said in excitement and Thrianna snapped out of her haze. "I told you it was asleep."Thrianna said convincing herself instead of the girl as it was the only reasonable explanation, the little gave her a look of disbelief as she placed one tiny hand on her waist. "I am not a kid,I know what happened."and Thrianna had to hold back her laughter, so unbelievable. "Quickly, send your message so it can be delivered before it flies away."Thrianna said recovering from her shocked state. "I miss you papa and I love you."she said and Thrianna held out her hand and it flew away, Thrianna wondered how she could love someone she didn't meet, but also smiled at the thought, she looked so happy and immediately she stood and turned to Thrianna holding out her hand. "I'm Nina Braville, and you are?" "Cathrianna Winter."Thrianna said as she shook her hand with a smile and she didn't know why her last name sounded familiar. "Nice to meet you ,Thrianna."she said and Thrianna missed home once again,it was only her family and friends that called her Thrianna and she had none of that here but seemed like she had gotten one even if it was for an hour. "Nice to meet you too, Nina." Up in the manor Ivor looked down to the garden from the patio to see Thrianna holding a bird while Nina spoke to it with a bright smile on her face, they were both on their hinges and when Nina was done speaking she held the bird like the goddess of air and life and it flew away. He smiled as Nina made a face at Thrianna and she stood as they shook hands, they seemed be on their introduction, the sight made him smile more than necessary but he didn't want children,he could imagine it but he couldn't live it, they were a lot of trouble and we're so annoyingly clingy ,so he just left the patio to meet Susan,if Nina was here, that only meant that Susan was here as well and without due Information on her arrival as always.
