The last few days have flown by making sure everything is prepared for the ball. Guests are starting to arrive and Piper and I have been busy making sure everyone is settled into either hotels or cabins around the pack territory. The Alpha’s with their Lunas, betas, and gammas are placed in the luxurious rooms in the pack house. The wealthier packs and the newer packs are given multi-bedroom guest mansions on one of the streets the pack rents out for profit when not in use for events.
Alpha Sander’s, or Praefectus Sander’s pack is one of the packs that gets one of the mansions. Not everyone was able to attend. The warriors and those unable to get off of work for the weekend stayed behind. Sandy and Tim are there standing by me as we welcome those we know to my new home. I can’t believe how many people I know that are actually werewolves.
As the first members of the pack step out of the cars, Tim and Sandy step forward and give a young man and his wife a hug, “Adara, this is the second in command of our home pack that joined with Silver Wood, the former Beta Brent and Ginny.” Tim introduces.
“ Welcome to Silver Wood, I hope you enjoy your time here with us. I’m sorry I didn’t get to know you while I lived in Brownsville. I really didn’t get to know too many people while I was there.”
“It’s OK, Luna.” Brent replies. “We were told a little of your past, not much but enough to know that you needed your space. We truly will miss your baking at the diner though.” Adds Ginny.
After Brent and Ginny step aside, a young man steps forward, “This is the third in command, Gamma Nolan, who is unmated.” Sandy introduces.
“It’s a pleasure to finally be introduced to you. I have enjoyed your backing many times this past year at the diner. I missed out by not meeting you before.” Nolan states as he lifts my hand to press a kiss to the back of it.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Nolan.” I hide my discomfort at is appraising look.
“Where is Grant, did he not come with you?” I ask as Samantha, his wife steps from the final car.
“Hello, Adara.” Samantha wraps me in a warm embrace.
“Hi, Sam. How was the drive?” I ask. “Luckily, uneventful, and Grant stayed behind to make sure everything is in order before he drive out here later tonight. He will be arriving a bit later tonight or tomorrow morning. I told him not to push the drive if he gets tired.”
“Oh, that is a relief. I was worried he wouldn’t be coming.”
“Adara darling, he wouldn’t miss out on this. Even though you are close with Sandy and Tim, he always thought of you as a daughter. He always would watch out for you as if you are ours.” Samantha states with a motherly love I her eyes.”
Wiping a tear that slowly falls down my cheek, “Wow, that really touched my heart. Thank you Sam.” After another embrace, “Let me show you to your rooms. I know you have more pack members trickling in over the next few hours. You can direct them here and assign them the rooms you wish. I will show you to the rooms that we have prepared for you all.” I lead them to the third floor, via the elevator with their luggage in tow. “These are the best rooms we have available. I wanted you all to have the honor and Cal agreed with me.”
“The kitchen is stocked or you can have dinner with us at the pack house, which you passed on the way in.” I let them know as Sandy, Tim, and I leave them to get settled in.

The last of the pack that is attending the Ball and Luna ceremony left about an hour ago.
Grant: My love, I am leaving in an hour or so. I am finishing up some business that I must take care of before I start on my way. The last of the pack that is attending is on their way. I love you and will see you tomorrow. I will most likely stop at a hotel.
Sam: Ok my darling mate. I love you. Travel safe and send me a text when you stop.
Grant: I will my heart. Kisses and I love you more.
Sam: Don’t start that or you will never get you work done. ?
Grant: too true sexy wolf.
Sam: work hot stuff, the faster you get her the quicker I can be wrapped around you.
Grant: ohhhhh man. Ok, I’m working!
Thirty minutes later I shoot off the final e-mail needed for the business transaction to bring more money into Brownsville. Just because I am no longer alpha does not mean I don’t care about my pack. I will always care for and try to improve our future. I grab my garment bag with my tux and my suit case and load up the car.
“Felix” I call to the training officer and best warrior under Nolan. Via mind-link “Yes, sir.”
“I’m leaving now, you are in charge of security and keeping our people safe.” I let Felix know.
“Yes, sir. I have everything in place as we discussed and planned out yesterday with Nolan. Have a safe trip and a good time.”
“I will Felix. Stay safe as well.” I link back as I exit the drive of the pack house and head out of town towards my wife.
A few hours outside of our past territory border I start getting drowsy. I see signs for a hotel in two miles. I’m nearing the exit when I get rammed from behind. All I see are the high beams of a large vehicle. I get hit from the side as I near the exit and the car rolls down the hill and comes to a rest against a tree. I’m trying to unbuckle my seatbelt when a fist comes flying through the shattered glass of the side window and blackness follows.

I find out which car Cobra took on his hit.
“Of course, He took the Land Rover.” Viper states as he rolls his eyes. “It’s the best ride we have. He better not have ruined it.”
“Tiger, pull up the vehicle GPS, lets find where it’s at.”
Tiger pulls up the app on his phone to track the Land Rover. “It appears to be off line. The last coordinates show it to be in a junk yard outside of Brownsville though.”
“Aight, let’s get goin’. We are burnin’ day light.” Viper exclaims.
“You know, I hate that term right? The Asp would always use it when we were grow’in up. It bugged me then and it bugs me now.”
Viper grins at Tiger, “I know, it’s why I said it.”
“Asshole” Tiger says under his breath as he looks out the side window watching the landscape pass by.
About five hours later Viper slaps Tiger in the chest, “Pit stop. Going to gas up and grab some grub. Your drivin’.”
“Yeah, whatever.” Tiger states with a yawn and getting out of the large SUV.
After taking a piss, grabbing his own grub, Tiger checks that Viper fueled the vehicle up. He climbs into the driver seat to wait on Viper a he takes a huge bite of his gas station sandwich.
“I can’t wait to get some real food. Not this crap.” Tiger states as Viper climbs into the passenger seat.
“Soon” is all Viper says as Tiger pulls back onto the road.
Two and a half days later they pull into the junk yard where the coordinates last had the Land Rover.
“Can I help you boys?” A gray haired lanky man asks as he steps out of the office door, sizing up Viper and Tiger.
“We are looking for our brother’s car. The GPS locater had it’s last location as here in your junkyard.” Tiger replies.
“Alright, what kind of car was it and do you have the paperwork for the vehicle?” Asks the old man.
“Right here.” Tiger again replies as he pulls out the title and registration for the Land Rover.
“OK then boys follow me. I remember when I got this truck. It was abandoned on the side of the road. Mayor called to have it removed. Was an eyesore on the road leading to town.” The old man chats away unaware of the anger the two dangerous men are exhibiting.
When the old man points out the Land Rover, they are stunned at what they find. “What the hell happened in this car? The interior is melted!” Tiger exclaims.
“Old man,” Viper calls, “Are you sure this was just abandoned on the side of the road? There were no emergency services called to where this car was towed from?”
Keeping to his word to the mayor on where and why it was towed, the old man replies, “Nope, no sir. The mayor just called it in as abandoned.”
“Who is the mayor, I’d like to ask him a few questions.” Tiger says hiding his anger well.
“Uh, That’d be Mayor Sanders. Lives over off of Packs End Lane.”
“Here is the notarized title signing the vehicle over to you. We just need to get some items from the vehicle You can do with it as you see fit.” Viper thrusts the title into the old man’s hands.
Tiger backs their SUV up to the Land Rover and retrieves the items from the hidden compartment with some difficulty due to the melted interior. “Grab the license plate Viper and lets get the hell out of here and find Packs End Lane and go and “talk” to the mayor.”
It took the brothers no time in finding Packs End Lane.
“What the hell is going on. I’ve never seen so many pack members leave at one time. Something big is going on here, Viper.” Tiger says unnecessarily.
Viper just eyes his brother and continues to keep watch. Pulling out his phone when his call connects he only asks ,”Where are you?” in way of a greeting.
“We are in about an hour out of Wala Wala.” The voice on the other end states.
“Divert to our location. I think we have a better way of getting all of the information we need on what happened to Cobra and what is going on with the packs in this area.”
“Send me your coordinates and keep us updated on your location if you are going to be on the move.”
“Noted.” Viper disconnects his call and sends their current location to Kai.
