Kayla's POV:

Alpha Ellis has spared our lives. I am forever thankful that Luna Raven is kind and understanding. Now that I am thinking clearly I realize why the Moon Goddess chose her for Jameson. Raven is kind and understanding, but she is tough and loyal to her mate and her pack. She is the perfect mate for Jameson, able to contain his anger and sooth him into listening , but ready to go to war with him, for him,and this pack. I was ignorant to question the goddess and her decisions.

I quickly pack up all my personal belongings from my bedroom at my parents house. I tell them that I have some business to take care of for the Luna.

Naturally they are suspicious, seeing as the word has gotten around about our showdown.

I assure my parents that Luna and I have worked out our differences and head out the door to my new home for the next who knows how long .

The cabin is musty.Jameson was right about getting cleaning supplies. I open all the windows to the cabin and begin by stripping all the bed clothes and throwing them in the washer. It's a nice cozy place. It just needs some tlc. This is the cabin that is used to hold guest from other packs when there's not enough room at the pack house. Because the pack house is huge and has been remodeled and most of the pack members live in their own homes now, the cabin has been empty for a few years. However, it's a nice large two bed room two bath cabin with a kitchen and living area and even a dining room. All the appliances are relatively new and all stainless steel. They haven't been used much and there's even a dishwasher. I takes a few hours to get the dust cleaned up and the house smelling nice and inviting. There's even a nice porch with a swing. I don't think I will mind at all living here, but to be honest I would live anywhere as long as Rylan was there.

It's late when I get done. I realize that I have about 100 missed text from Rylan.

I quicky read them and my heart fills so complete. Knowing that he is worried and cares so much about me without even having the mate bond as strong because he's human .

I quickly text him back .

Kayla : I'm sorry it took so long for me to reply . You were right about Raven. We owe her our lives .

Rylan : Thank goodness I was ready to head there to see if you were okay ! Don't do that to me. Had me thinking that Jameson killed you when you admitted our plans.

Kayla : He would have if it hadn't been for the Luna. I see now why the goddess chose her for him. Raven was able to convince Jameson not only to allow us to live, but to allow you to come here and join the pack. Under stipulation of course . That's what has taken me so long to reply. You have one week to gather as much info on the vamps and the Alpha who originally hired them. Then you will be allowed to come here in secret. Jameson has allowed me to use the old pack cabin for guest . You will spend your time here while you turn. We are not to let anyone outside of the high ranks know you are here .

Rylan : Okay I will do the best I can to find out as much as possible. In the mean time see if you are allowed to continue to meet me outside of the pack. I want to make it look as legit to the vamps as possible, and also I need to see you as much as I can.

Kayla : I will ask , but I don't know how well that will go over. I need to finish getting this place ready for you. You need to work on controlling your thoughts around the Vampires. They are able to read your thoughts if they are skilling in mind bending. I have a feeling Jake is, or he wouldn't be the king's henchman. Practice thinking about your dislike of Jameson. As much as I hate it; I need you to keep your mind on what you had with Raven when they are around. Hide your feelings about me at all cost or they will figure us out .

Rylan :I knew it! I had a feeling that he was in my head before. I will practice. Get some sleep. The sun is down; I'm sure they will be showing up here soon to ask me about our meeting .

Kayla : Please be careful .

Rylan : I promise I will. I will call you in the morning.

Rylan's POV:

I knew that Raven wouldn't let Jameson kill us. At least I hoped I knew her well enough to assume that. I am more then happy to hear from Kayla that not only has Raven convinced Jameson to allow us to live , she accepted me as a member of their pack, and in less than a week I can move there and be With my mate and start the process of being turned. I do as Kayla says and practice picturing Jameson and my dislike of him . Even with his acceptance it's not hard to continue to dislike him in my head. I have a lot of past feelings to focus on. Same with Raven. I focus on the past we had. It feels wrong and I feel like a cheater thinking about her, but I know I have to to keep up my appearance to Jake and the others .

I was right not long after my conversation with

Kayla I get a text from Jake .

Jake : Meet us at the were house to discuss your plan at 11:00

Rylan : Listen I'm human I need sleep, but I'll be there .

I reply to Jake annoyed .

I load up in my car and head for the creepy abandoned warehouse.

Once I get there I put all of my memories and feelings in a mental steal box wrapped in chains and focus on my past with Raven as much as possible.

I enter the large ware house to find Jake and the same wolf from last time .

" Tell me boy , what have you and the she-wolf come up with." Jake hisses .

" Kayla thinks we should use me as bait. She says that She thinks Raven's human side and our past won't allow her to let me be killed by you guys. That she will come after me; pissing Jameson off enough that she may be able to slide in and comfort him " I tell Jake our original plan .

He looks into my eyes as if searching for that memory . I allow him to see that part of our text messages but not the part that we met today.

"That could work, we could send her some of your spilled blood and this address and lure her out here." Jake's says to himself .

The wolf speaks up " Alpha Bryant will want to approve this plan."

" Oh you stupid dog , your Alpha has been cut out of this plan ." Jake laughs.

I watch as the wolf and Jake get into a heated argument. I watch in horror as the man's hands turn into claws and he begins to shift in front of me. Jake pulls a small pistol from his pants and shoots the man in the head with a silver bullet.

The wolf falls to the ground with a thud.

" Okay now that we have gotten that over with , let's set your plan into motion " Jake says without even an ounce of remorse for the man he just killed.

I just stare at him in shock.

" Well you didn't think I was going to hand the Luna over to that mutt, did you. " Jake laughs

" Earth to the human " Jake snaps at me .

" Wait why are you helping me get Raven back, and why should I believe you"? I studder

" Oh dear boy , We are not helping you win your love back. My king wants her for his mate. In order to do that we need to lure her away from the Alpha and take her to a place where he will never find her. " You are human you will find someone else to love. If you do not corporate you will loose your life. Do you understand boy?" Jake hisses.

"Yes , I understand" I reply still in shock of what just happened .

" Good now come here , I will send a small amount of your blood to your Sweet Raven to make her think that you have been captured. Let Kayla know the plan is in motion and to be ready to distract the Alpha. If you fail. I will deliver you myself to the king and Kayla will be outted to the Alpha." Jake says looking into my soul reading my thoughts. I do my best to hide my concern for Kayla and to focus only on the Image of Raven being delivered to the vampire king.

Jake punctures my wrist with his fangs and allows a small amount of my blood to fill a flask.

I shutter at the thought of why he's carrying a flask to begin with.

"Now go home and wait for my instructions. We will send her a letter with your blood and instruct her to meet us here to retrieve you in the next few days. I will tell you when to be here once we decide on a date. "

I do as he says and head home, this time I don't feel clouded. I must have been able to keep him out of my heard enough to hide my feelings for Kayla. At least I hope I have .

I have the Alpha of the packs name now and I know when what the vampires plan to do with Raven. I hope this is enough information to have Jameson go ahead and pull me into the pack. As a human I am vulnerable to the vampires. Jake made it clear that as a wolf he can still kill me , but at least I know that he has a gun now and I know I need to turn as soon as possible.

I send Kayla a quick message when I get home .

Rylan : I know it's late and your probably asleep but I have news. Please contact me asap.

A few minutes later my phone dings.

Kayla: I couldn't sleep I was worried about you. What did you find out.

I tell her everything that I just learnt.

Kayla : I am going to the Alpha now. Do not leave your apartment. I will be there as soon as I can. Daylight is the safest. Just stay put.

Rylan : I will. Talk to you soon.

I want to say I love you , but is that even possible yet . Maybe this mate bond thing is stronger then I ever thought .

Jameson's Pov:

Raven and I have been in bed for a few hours . She must be exhausted from today. I've been watching her sleep for a while when I get a frantic mind link from Kayla.

" Alpha, I am sorry I know it's late , I have information. Please respond. " She pleas.

Fuck , I don't want to deal with this right now .

" I am wake , Kayla this better be worth interrupting my night" I respond

" Alpha , It was Alpha Bryant who hired the Vampires . They plan to send Luna Rylan's blood in a letter to lure her out to a wearhouse , where they plan to capture her and take her to the king . They plan on the king keeping her as his mate. Jake killed Alpha Bryant's man tonight. They have threatened to Kill Rylan If he doesn't go through with this plan , Please Alpha let me go get him. " She frantically fills me in on what she'd learned.

" Kayla , calm down I need to get a date before we can get Rylan. If we pull him too fast we will loose the chance to capture anyone that may be able to give the king's whereabouts up. " I calmly tell her .

" Fine , but what if it was your mate . Would you leave Raven there" she snaps .

This causes rage to fill in my chest, I roar back to her . " Protecting my mate is exactly why you will do as I say. If you want our deal to stand; you will shut the hell up and do as your are told "

" I'm sorry Alpha , I let my emotions get the best of me again . Thank you for your time. " she whispers back through the link before going silent.

I hadn't realized that all of my huffing and puffing had woke Raven.

" What was that about ?" she ask sleepily.

" Rylan has more information, We will talk about it tomorrow ." I kiss her head and she falls back asleep. I have a hard time sleeping thinking about what I will do to Alpha Bryant and his pack .

I should have known . He's a young power hungry Alpha .He's 28 but he Still hasn't found a Luna . 28 Isn't very old for most humans , but when an Alpha takes over at 18 we are expected to find our Luna's fairly quickly .

Justin Bryant the Alpha of the red river pack has been on my radar for a while. Rumors of him ignoring breeder laws have been floating around for a while , but we have been unable to catch him in the act.

When a regular she-wolf is forced to breed with a male during a heat cycle sometimes the pup will make it to term, but It's rare for non mated to produce off spring , and even more rare for the she- wolf to carry to term. These girls are held against their will to forcefully attempt to produce a pup for their Alpha to have an heir.

The thought of him Trying to force my mate to produce his heir has my blood boiling and by the time morning comes I haven't slept more then an hour.

Before Raven even wakes I get a mind link from Anderson

"Alpha , I'm sorry to bother you this early in the morning. We have another letter this time addressed to the Luna , and this time it was delivered with a package." he says .

" Where was it found?" I ask .

" Beyond the pack territory at the entrance. "He replies .

" Give me just a moment and I'll be there" I tell him .

Raven wakes up as I'm leaving the bed .

" Stay here I will explain when I get back." I tell her .

She stays in bed and I go to the door to retrieve the letter and package.

When I return I tell her about Kayla's news,and what she had learnt. What I suspect should be in the letter .

If Kayla's intel is correct the package is a flask of Rylan's blood and the letter tells you to meet them at werehouse to exchange you for his freedom.

Raven's Pov:

First thing when I wake up I discover that Rylan and Kayla have found the name of the Alpha who started this mess. Alpha Bryant . He has asked me many times before turning of age to agree to be his chosen mate , of course he's not the only unmated Alpha who had asked for my being their chosen mate. My father had gotten plenty of request all which I ignored or declined respectfully. I am the Daughter of two Alphas which makes me a good choice for an Alpha looking to produce strong offspring .

Jameson what right . The blood in the flask is Rylan's I can smell his scent with out even having to open it. The letter written by Jake , says for me to meet him in a were house close to my dad's pack . I know exactly where it is . It's the old 31 factory. The letter request that I be there tonight at 11 pm or tomorrow night they will mail be Rylan's head .

"Jameson now that you have a place and time that the vampires will be, allow Kayla to go collect Rylan . " I tell him as I fold the letter back up.

" Yes , Luna ", he jokes as he mind links Kayla to tell her to go get her mate .

"I need to have a meeting with my strongest men, are you okay hanging out with Becca again today ?" He ask me .

" Your kidding right? I'm going with you . There's no way I'm letting our people fight for me and not even show up myself ." I firmly tell him .

" Absolutely not ! " He roars.

" Jameson our people do don't deserve to lay their lives on the line for me, while I hide out at home. You have seen that I can handle my own. I will not allow my people to fight while I hide. " I reply calmly to his temper tantrum.

" Raven , what if you are captured ? I will never be able to live with myself if something we're to happen to you." He pleas with me.

I feel a pit in my stomach when I imagine how much it would hurt him if I was captured.I know that I can not let my people fight for me when they deserve to have me fight with them.

Jameson's Pov:

I know it's pointless to argue with her about this. Besides she's right. Alpha blood runs In her veins, it's against her nature to let our pack fight her battles .

I relentlessly agree to let Raven attend the meeting to help plan our attack.

Kayla will be returning with the human boy around the same time that we will be arriving to the warehouse. Wolves have an advantage with our sharp sense of smell , our strength is superior to the vampires . My only concern is the silver bullets.

A team of my strongest members, Raven and I load into multiple dark suvs . The engines roar to life. I can't focus on much except the thought of keeping my mate safe. The ride to the warehouse is a quiet one. I am angry about Raven being here , but I know she's doing the right thing. She reaches out and takes my large hand in hers.

"Jameson, please don't be angry with me . It is my duty to be here and to fight with my pack ." She says softly.

" I know , it doesn't make it easier. " I reply kissing her hand .

We arrive at our planned location . It is about a mile away from the warehouse . Our plan is to park far enough away that our vehicles aren't spotted giving us away. Our team will run the last mile in wolf form. The element of surprise is key in our plan .

I send Tucker and Ronald to scout the area.

They return to inform me that Jake , and three others have just arrived at the ware house.

We start running toward the abandoned building. I mind link the pack to remind them to capture Jake if possible, and kill the others.
