Unexpected

" My father was right about the vampires , wasn't he , they have their own plans for me ? "

"It would seem so , my love . I will never let them get to you ," I promise her. I am trying to hold my anger back, but I can feel Axel clawing at the surface to break loos and kill anyone who dare threaten our mate .

" What do they want , Jameson . Tell me please", She begged

"They want you for their king. It seems he plans to use your special blood to create some sort of hybrid. They calim you will be returned to me if I allow them to have you for one heat cycle and produce a child . They are out of their f*****g minds . Absolutely not" I growl . I can fell myself loosing control of Axel .

Raven's eyes are as round as saucers , her mouth is practically on the floor , " They want me to use me as a breeder ? "

" Raven our laws have banned breeders for decades , I will not allow this. You are mine and the only children you will carry are ours! I need to go to my office for a while , Axel is trying to break free , I need to put my anger elsewhere before I do or say something I may regret," I roar as I quickly dress in jeans and a black tee . I leave Raven sitting in our bed as I storm out of our suite and head to my office to collect myself .

Raven's POV:

Jameson storms out of our apartment and leaves me sitting on the bed . I don't know how to feel or what to think . I pick up the letter and begin reading it for myself , that's when I realize the vampires scent on the letter belongs to Jake . The same Vampire from the coffee shop, the one who was involved with Rylan. I will tell Jameson about this when he calms down. I read the letter , I am disgusted . These vampires see me a a thing that can be traded between alphas , not a person , not an equal or a Luna .

I quickly text Becca , I hope she won't mind leaving Tucker for a few hours to come and help me cope with all the s**t that is going on

Raven : Hey , please tell me that you can sneak away for a little while I need one of our long walks .

Becca : Girl , you know I'm always available for those . Tuck just got called away to the alphas office , If I had to guess that's what we're going to talk about ?

Raven : I will tell you everything , meet down the hall in about 10 minutes.

Becca : okay see you soon .

I quickly grab a pair of black running shorts, a tee-shirt , any my favorite pair of running shoes . I don't even bother throwing any make up on or even messing with my hair . I just pile it in a messy bun .

I head out of our room and into the hall way , I can see that Becca isn't out here yet so I decide to wait on her in the hall between our rooms .

That's when my day goes from bad to worse . The last person I want to see or deal with comes walking up the hall way . f**k, Kayla what does she want and why is she on this floor.

" Luna, I wanted to apologize for my behavior , I let my temper get the best of me . It was a shock to us all that Alpha Ellis had finally found his mate , I hope you can forgive my inappropriate display of affection toward your mate . I have had time to settle myself and my feelings toward Jameson , I mean Alpha Ellis which are clearly not mutual." She says in her sweetest fake voice .

" Listen , I don't have the time or energy to deal with your bullshit today, sure what ever your forgiven this time . But I will say this once and once only . If I ever catch wind of you even so much breathing wrong in Jameson's direction I will not hesitate to rip your throat out . Are we clear ? " I use my Alpha tone with her.

"Crystal " she hisses in her annoying voice .

Becca's door slams and I have never been more great ful of the way she has a nack of saving my ass from situations I don't want to deal with .

" You ready Raven ?" , Becca cheerfully calls out.

"Yep , we are finished here." I call back as I push past Kayla to join my friend .

I mind link Jameson to let him know that Becca and I are going for a walk in the garden to clear my head.

" Do Not leave the walls , I am serious I do not want you in the woods with out me , you are to stay within the walls of the pack until farther notice ," Jameson replies to my mind link .

" Yes , Alpha ," I answer him in my annoyed tone before shutting him out of my mind .

God I hate how arrogant Alphas are. One of the many reasons I rebelled against being mated to one and here I am , with the most ruthless Alpha of North America. I don't even want to know how pissed he's going to be that I shut him out .

Becca and I find a quite place in the garden where we won't be over heard, and I tell her everything from the beginning with the vamp at the cafe being the same one who sent the letter , and about what the letter contained. How a few days ago I was just the Alpha's daughter, now I am Luna of this pack , and not only have I made an enemy inside, but two more lurk outside the pack waiting on their opportunity to kidnap me and turn me into a breeder .

" Dude this is so messed up! Those rouges couldn't have gotten in and out with out being caught or seen without inside help. I think I should keep Kayla close enough to watch . I have a gut feeling she's helping them," I tell my friend .

" Raven I agree with you . There's something just not right about her obsession with Jameson. The way she showed such disrespectful taste yesterday toward you ." Becca chimes in .

"Do you think I should mention it to Jameson? With everything going on I don't really want to stress him more then I have too ." I ask more of a question for myself then for Becca .

" How about I talk to Tuck . He will know what to do. He's been Jameson's best friend almost as long as I've been yours . If he thinks we should tell Jameson you think Kayla is helping then we will , if not Tucker can help keep an eye out and let Jameson focus on the our side threats . "

Becca always has a way of helping calm my inner storm .

Kayla's POV:

Apologizing to Raven is worse then swallowing battery acid . I don't have much time to come up with a plan. I need her to think that I have submitted to her . I don't care if the moon goddess chose her for Jameson. She obviously made a mistake by not making me his mate .

Wolves have a heat cycle every six months , but once we are marked it can cause an early heat . With Raven having alpha blood I can almost bet that Jameson marking her will send her into a heat cycle in the next few weeks. It's mother nature's way to insure survival of the fittest, because they are both of alpha blood and will produce strong pups.

I think if I can somehow make Raven believe that Rylan is in danger because of her, she may leave the pack to save him . That would piss Jameson off unbelievably . He might even kill the human boy , Raven wouldn't forgive him for that . Okay that's the plan . I need to see if he can some how. help me stage something .

I pull out my phone and text him .

Kayla : So we need a plan and we need one fast. If we don't pull this off before I'm exposed I will loose my life, and I'm not going alone . I will make sure that Jameson knows everyone involved .

Rylan : The way I see it is if we don't pull this off , I'm dead either way . what did you come up with.

Kayla : We need to use you as bait . Stage something like the vampires are holding you hostage to get her to come to you . Even if her mate bond makes her not love you anymore , I don't think she would let you die because of her. This will piss Jameson off enough to cause a wedge between them . I'll move in on him and comfort him , then you can work on her .

Rylan : Great piss of Jameson even more sounds fool proof .

Kayla : Well do you have a better plan ?

Rylan : My plan is I think we should abandon this whole thing . I love Raven , but I have a bad feeling we are both going to die over this s**t. But of this is the best you got maybe we should meet up and come up with a solid plan

Kayla : Yeah, let's hope not . I quite like living . can you meet me today around 2 . We can meet in the middle there is a state park in boone . We will look like regular hikers and we can talk freely in the woods .

Rylan : Sure , secluded deep in the woods with a werewolf , what could go wrong . I'll be there .

For some reason texting Rylan feels natural like he's a friend . Something inside me gets excited about meeting him in person . I play it off as excitement to hopefully win Jameson back .

I pull in the the Boone state park and send Rylan a quick text .

Kayla : I'm here meet me at the over look trail.

Rylan : Pulling in now to the entrance . Be there soon .

It's a warm summer day so I have my dark black hair pulled back , running shorts , a tank and tennis shoes. I think I blend in well with the other hikers in the park .

I'm wating on Rylan at the picnic area in front of the trail . when I see a red mustang pull in . As soon as the man in the car exits I get a whiff of something intoxicating. It smells like pine , but it's a musky yet delightful smell with a small hint of something sweet like chocolate.

"Mate" , Iris my wolf howls. "This is impossible please no I snap at her" through our link . " He's our mate stop being foolish I told you Jameson isn't our mate a long time ago , now you have to make this right before you get us both killed ."

The man from the mustang walks up to me . "um are you kayla ? " He ask nervously .

I just stare at him with a confused look. His scent is over whelming. He's a handsome man , I can tell he is human but he's almost as large as a wolf would be .

" Hello , I'm supposed to be meeting my friend Kayla here for a hike today for the first time , are you the only person here ? " He snaps me out of my trance .

" R r Rylan? " I studder.

" Yeah , so you are Kayla , let's go get this over with ." He says .

Rylan's Pov .

Kayla is a beautiful girl with Dark black hair and teal eyes . Why are all these werewolves so attractive. She gives me butterflies that only Raven gave me before . I don't know why but I like being here .

"Rylan , we can't break them up," she starts to cry .

" What do you mean , we can't . If we don't we will both be killed . I don't understand what your talking about." I ask confused . Something about her saying this makes my heart flutter and I don't know if it's because I know I'll be ripped apart if I don't complete my mission or some hope that Kayla is feeling the same pull toward me as I am her .

" Don't freak out , but I have to tell you something ." she whimpers.

" Um okay ? , but let's start walking the trail and we can talk there. Here feels too open and vulnerable.

We walk a little ways onto the path. I don't know why but It feels blissful being near her. this is the first time in days I don't feel on edge .

We stop a little ways onto the trail and she looks at me with worry in her eyes .

"I can't break them up because I'm no longer worried about trying to be Jameson's chosen mate, um it seems like my wolf has found her own mate " , she says in an almost apologetic voice .

" I'm confused , this morning when we talked you wanted to meet to discuss a plan , now your backing out because you found a mate in the last 3 hours? " I ask .

Something in my heart drops hearing this beautiful girl has found a mate . I am so confused about why I feel like my heart is broken thinking that this person I just met is unavailable. Even with the whole reason we are here is so that I can win a girl that doesn't even want me back .

" Rylan , your not hearing me . I can't break them up because you are my fated mate " , she says to me in her angel like voice .

" Me ? But I am a human, is that even possible ? " I ask confused .

My heart is pounding out of my chest , not because I am afraid for my life, but something in me is over joyed at her words .

" It is possible , but it's complicated . I know why you came here, If you still want Raven back I can not help you do that now . " She says as she starts crying again .

" Please don't cry . I don't know why but it feels like none of that matters now, I just don't want to see you upset . But what are we going to do about the vampires threats to kill me , and to turn you in if we don't get what they want ?"

I reach out to wipe her tears away and it feels like electric pulses crawl up my arm.

" Whoa , what was that?" I pull away shocked .

" That would be the mate bond , I don't know what to do about the fact that we are in deep s**t , but I know that my wolf just wants to be here with you . There's a catch . You need to know that inorder to be fully mates we have to mark each other ." She says but I can see the worry in her words .

" This is all a lot for me , I just learnt that you even exist. I read about the mark, Because the Vampires thought it was a good way to break me into the reality of what Jameson and Raven are . How can I be marked if I'm not a wolf ?" Something inside me wants her to mark me , as crazy as it sounds .

" You can't , you have to be turned. " She says looking at the ground kicking a stick on the dirt trail .

" I will do it , I want too . I don't know why but being here with you feels right . It is the best I have felt since this all started . How do we do it . I mean if I am a wolf at least I'll be stronger when the Vampires come for me . It will give me a fighting chance to save our lives . " I plead with her to believe me .

" You would change your whole life , your whole being to be with me ? You understand that means leaving your human life behind. I need you to be sure because if I change you it will be painful. Your body will try to fight the venom of my bite. it will take days for you to completely change and it will be hell . It is possible that you won't make it though the transformation. " she whimpers .

" Yes , I'm sure . I can't explain it but I want to be with you . every ounce of my being is begging to stay here with you . If the venom kills me , then at least you will be there by my side, and not by the hands of vampires or pissed of wolf's . " I tell her.

" We have to come up with a plan . I need to be with you while you change so that I can take care of you . You will need someone there , but I can't not go home tonight. I checked out for a few hours . Jameson has security at the pack tighter then I've ever seen it. He's worried about Raven and I understand now . I need to ask for help. If I change you and Jameson rejects you as part of the pack , we will be rouge ." she explains and I can feel her worry .

" Go talk to Raven . You man not like her, but she's a good hearted person . I believe she will help us . If I can get more information from Jake to give to Jameson , maybe he will see that as a truce between us. He wanted me dead because I was in the way with Raven , but now that I've found a mate and I don't want her we can come to a truce . " I say trying to get myself to believe what I'm telling her .

" Rylan you don't understand , Jameson is not easy to forgive. He didn't get his reputation as the most brutal Alpha , by forgiving those who would dare cross him ." she cries .

" Talk to Raven , maybe she can talk to him . It's all I've got right now . But she has a big heart and she's forgiving ." I tell her as I lean into kiss her forehead.

Sparks fly though my body. Kayla reaches up and puts her hand behind my neck to pull me to her lips. I don't even care that we are in a public forest . I can feel my member growing . I don't know anything about this mate bond , but I know that I have never felt the need to make love to someone more then I do right now .

Kayla grabs my hand and leads me over behind the large boulder just off the trail. I push her against it and start trailing her neck with my lips . Her teal eyes turn honey colored .

" Should I stop ? " I ask not sure if her wolf can handle my attack on her body . I remember Jameson's eyes turning when he was pissed . I assume that would be the wolf part of them .

" No , please don't , it's okay Iris my wolf won't hurt you , she already knows that you are our mate . "

With her premission , I continue what I was doing , trailing kisses along her jawline .

Kayla waste no time in ripping my shirt off. I take her shirt from her quickly and unhook her bra revealing perfect breast . She looks at me with playful eyes . " Well mate do you like what you see "?

" If this was the last view I saw, I'd die a happy man ," I joke back .

I push her against the bolder and remove her running shorts just enough to give me room to slide between her legs . I quicky drop my jeans and boxers and slam inside her.

The electric charge running through my body with every stroke and Kayla's moans urge me to thrust harder and faster. She digs her nails into my back and we finish together .

" If being mates means we get to do this when ever we want I'm all in," I joke with her as I kiss her forehead.

" Just wait of you think quickies in the woods are good , once your turned all your senses will be heightened, and the mate bond makes everything better ", she playfully says while quickly getting dressed .

" I have to get back to the pack before people start wondering where I am . I will talk with Raven as soon as I get back . Please stay safe. Lie to the vamps if you have too . Just buy time until I get this worked out.", Her playful tone is gone and I can tell that she's worried about the deal we have just broken.

" I will and you too . I don't trust Jameson's temper. stay in contact with me as much as possible ." I tell her.

Jameson would have killed me if it wasn't for Raven . I hope and pray that she will help save my mate now .
