Three years later
“Babe, give me a hand with this,” I called over my shoulder as I attempted to move the couch out of the way.
“Now, mo ghra,” Conall chided me gently. “You know what the doctor said. You're not supposed to overdo it.”
“I'm not overdoing it,” I said as I huffed out an exasperated breath. “I'm simply trying to clean, and I even asked for help this time!”
“Look, Mama! I help!” our two and a half year old son, Leif, was using the hand held vacuum to pick up invisible specks of dust. It wasn't turned on, of course, the sound still frightened him, but he loved to be included in everything we did and was possibly more excited than anyone about becoming a big brother soon.
